I hear what you are saying, but I disagree with the principle of forcing people to have health insurance. I don’t think a comparison with auto insurance is appropriate. My driving endangers others, and insurance is required only if I own a car and only against the damage I may cause others.
Whereas my health endangers no one. I don’t think it is right to force me to handle my own health anyone else’s way.
There may have been some pragmatic benefits to Romney’s plan, or not, but these can be very temporary. I keep a file on the horror stories coming out of countries with socialized health. Things usually start out peachy, then as the money and incentive runs out as it does in every socialistic system, things go downhill.
If Romney is the Repub nominee, we will vote for him. But I don’t like this policy of his.
Romney is not going to force his plan on you. He said it worked in Mass but may not in other states.
The problem is that The Democrats are going to push this in the general election.
I think Romney’s idea would be far superior to what the Democrats want....government insurance, where you will wait in line to see a doctor or to get a needed operation.
I see this coming as more and more people want the government to take care of them.
I applaud Romeny for stepping up to the plate and being pro-active, when most are simply talking the talk.
