Four to eight years of a liberal republican will cause Americans to become complicit with the new definition of a republican.

Exactly....just as it has been doing for the past many years, moving its center to the left, incrementally. Just how the socialists have said it should be done.

The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism,
but under the name of [conservativism or Republicanism*] they will adopt
every fragment of the socialist program until one day America
will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.

Norman Thomas
~ 1936 presidential candidate on the Socialist ticket

How many close family members do YOU have in the war zones?

Maine-iac, I honorably served my country for eight plus years. I'd say that gives me the right, above and beyond my citizenship, to vote any way I please.

Besides, you never answered one of my earlier questions, to wit: what about the active duty military that votes Democrat in the 2008 election? Whether the percentage is 5% or 25%, are you going to call them traitors as well?

All I've said is that I will not vote for McCain or Huckabee.

You really need to get over yourself.

As a matter of fact, I do have a family member currently in Iraq, as well as several classmates from ROTC that are still on active duty and have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's not going to do them any good to have McCain or Huckabee as their CinC.

The major item that turned me away from Dubya was his complete failure as CinC from 2005-2006. He allowed the rules of engagement to be politicized (among other things), which put more of our troops in harms way. He was backed into a corner, and fortunately selected GEN Petraeus to turn things around.

Bush is going to have 4,000 PA gunmen protecting him.

For what, pray tell?

I guess it all comes down to a choice between one's own ideology and values and one's own party. I suppose we could be punishing the party more by voting for a liberal republican who will hurt the nation's economy by raising taxes, lowering wages via illegal workers and joining the democrats as he did in the Gang of 14.

Tax hikes can put us into a recession and it's not a good thing for the next election if that 2012 recession is owned by a republican President.

I haven’t gone down thread yet, but I already see that:

Many folks are prepared to be TOTAL LOSERS by not supporting the pubbie candidate, rather than being a PARTIAL LOSER by holding their nose and voting against a witch or an empty suit.

Total losers are total losers!

There’s a difference between a “pubbie” and a “RINO”

Maybe we can convince Hillary to run against Obama as a republican. That way we can celebrate the republican victory after she beats the democrat.</SARC>

Amen - My hopes rest in him - I won't remark on some of the other leaders...waiting/hoping to see some of them 'retired' or 'reassigned'

Our troops deserve better back up

Did you take the pledge?

I pledged to not vote for the most evil person in the world. I am not a McCain fan, but I am for ABH.

I said this on an earlier post, but I will repeat it you might understand it. Do you want me to type slow?

The RNC does not select the candidates. The candidates choose to run. If they get the nomination then it was Republican voters that put them there.

If you are so much more intelligent, why don't you run?

You missed my point. Maine (your state or not) gives the country socialists otherwise known as RINOs in Congress, even tho they have an R behind their name. They voted against most things Bush needed for the WOT, including the Patriot Act.

So - how does electing RINOs help the troops again ?

Yep...and the mantra: "the lesser of two evils"...it's how we continue to have evil wrecking havoc.

If Hillary were a Republican with her same agenda and McCain were a Democrat with his same agenda Who would you vote for?

As far as I am concerned, no one can have the same agenda as Hillary. I will vote for anybody but Hillary.
