His voting on the illegal immigration is usually taken out of context as he votes against numerous bills attached to spending increases

That is a possibility; however, it appears that he has often voted against bills proposed by conservative Duncan Hunter and in favor of or sponsorship of bills proposed by, for example, Loretta Sanchez, who only obtained her seat through an illegal election with illegals voting....that is my memory, as I had only recently moved away from So.Cal. at the time a good conservative man (B. Dornan) was thereby ousted.

Well, he’d definitely eliminate any and all benefits immediately regardless. You are right though that Hunter is a far better presidential candidate than Paul, but Paul’s record on some of these conservative sites is distorted by he votes against them because they aren’t conservative enough.

AuntB, do you have that article link from the Houston Chronicle a few months ago that had Paul’s comments about immigration from the 90s in it?

Nicmarlo, his immigration stance he has now is pretty new. Up until a few years ago, he took the classic libertarian stance that the ‘US should NOT have a national immigration policy and should welcome anyone who wants to come here to work in.’ I’ve pinged AuntB for the source article & quote.
