An update:
Kurt has come through the operation with flying colors and is resting comfortably (well, as best as can be expected).
The replacement joint came in on the FedEx plane about 6PM, and the operation went smoothly and without problems.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated, and his son sends his heartfelt thanks and best wishes for all of you. He honestly believes your prayers have made a difference.
I also thank you for all you do, and may the Almighty shower each and every one of you with his blessings.

Likewise in return! Prayer works. It doesn't always give us the answer we want, or the answer we expect, but it works nonetheless.
