Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #14 Milford, New Hampshire 01/06/08 - Official Discussion Thread
Fox News Channel; Roundtable format
Candidates the gatekeepers are allowing to participating:
Rudy: “I love you more”
Mitt is the 500 pound gorilla in the room!
So have I, but my crazy Aunt Mary is beautiful.
But Huck’s fair tax is a bad, bad idea. 20% on what you buy. We’re older and wealthier, we could avoiding buying everything if we wanted to and need to buy very little so our assets are preserved. However, would that mean that our children would pay 20% on everything they buy if they build a new house? Would they pay 20% tax on an older house? If real estate is exempt, there would be no incentive to build a new house, leaving an entire industry without work. Poor people still need to buy things, but how do you equitably make them exempt? Goofy idea.
That’s because they realize each time they debate him that ALL of the other Republican candidates are to the LEFT of him on the issues.

He just admitted he is a populist, should be game over for him.

Yes should be game over. Trouble is does the average voter know what a populist , socialist or progressive is?
I wouldn’t want Huckabee as my Preacher either, too ambitious for a Preacher.
These people stuck in delayed adolescence are sad cases, aren’t they?
L0L!
Who was the 2nd zot?
Now talking about his FLAT TAX plan! Go FRED!!!!
I agree. I think Rudy would make a good President, except for the whole personal life and social positions. I would hope that if the Republicans win (and that is a big if), Guiliani would have a place at the table. He can be quite articulate. I loved the ACLU line.
Just think:
It could be the ‘preacher man’ vs. the ‘she devil’.
Fred comes across as an adult and is the only one who isn’t narcissistic.
Way to interject the flat tax. I’d prefer the current system to the FairTax.
Fred does have the best plan on taxes.
He’s a rock star.
Paul was good for comic relief, however.
Change FRink!
I wonder if Fred would be a more realistic VP choice.
Fred would be able to debate with him very well and authentically. Why in the world would you believe the other candidates could hold a candle to Obama, unless they ran as a moderate. If that is what you believe, change your name to college moderate!
