Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #14 Milford, New Hampshire 01/06/08 - Official Discussion Thread
Fox News Channel; Roundtable format
Candidates the gatekeepers are allowing to participating:
He would have a lot more opportunity to effect policy as AG than he would VP. Or are you most concerned about the possibility of something happening to the pres if Rudi was VP?
Therefore he will never be POTUS unless he runs for the Democrat nomination, something I'm sure he could easily do without even getting a hair out of place.
As opposed to last night, this was NOT Fred's night, and it saddens me, because the American people want presentation.
Romney is a big Saks 5th Avenue hatbox with a gift certificate inside. Fred is a brown, crinkled paper bag filled with diamonds. I am afraid America won't even look inside the bag.
I repectfully disagree. Can you imagine Fred taking on Obama one-on-one in a televised debate. Fred has the experience, the knowledge and the temperment. Obama is like the sports car you’ve always wanted until you buy it. The darn thing is too small, requires too much maintenance, and you can’t give the thing away if you try. I agree, Fred isn’t flashy, but if Iran gets its hands on a nuclear device, what would you rather have, flash or substance. For what it’s worth....
No, it did not occur to me to be that cynical. It’s not the type of thing that you fake your belief about. He has seen the light. You don’t have to accept that, but I think he is being an example in doing so.
And, once again, you need to realize the limited extent to which the POTUS affects abortion. It has been discussed here, I’m sure you have seen it.
When you have a winner go with it! Please tell me who else can go all the way?
Agreed. Sarah Huckabee is quite nice....has the same sense of humor her dad does...

Those folks in New Hampster were clueless.
dang...three brilliant posts and you get me on oops wordage
my defense ? took a drink every time they said “change”
the better half just found me in the driveway using the dog as a pillow.........
BTTT!
So vote for a smooth talker— like Clinton? If you vote issues and for the consistent and trustworthy man, the rest will work itself out.
You are right, JFC. I was for Hunter until it was obvious that he wasn’t going to catch on with the voters. Fred was my second choice. He’s is hands down the best one left, but I can’t see him making any headway. He was great tonight, but I don’t think he inspires most people. I’m still with him, but I have Mitt waiting in the wings. I can’t do McCain or Huckabee. And then there’s Rudy.....geesh.
“I am a cut my taxes and protect my country conservative” = The Road To Damascus Miracle
We don’t know that yet do we. I guess you’ll have to go with Guiliani, if Mitt gets dumped.
Fred did good for the serious, Mitt did good too, but his BSO status caused more applause...
This to shall pass...
Fred Thompson spoke clear and steady and didnt get all souped up and excited whenever it was his turn.
Healthcare? This is a Republican? There wasnt even a question on Healthcare! Nobody talked about Healthcare!!
He didnt talk about specifics?? He outlined his plan on Social Security?, Taxes?, Guantanamo Bay?
Its pretty clear that A) Fox News is in the tank to BURY Fred, and B) Romney supporters at that focus group are completely retarded. You Myth lovers must be proud to be in that company.

You are so right. Fred speaks to issues. He's not a pretty boy. He's not slick.
He's just the most willing to do what must be done to lead and defend this country.
Yes, a great night for Mitt and sour grapes are being served.
;^)
“Fredster” sounds good. “Huskster” is deliberately pejorative and derogatory.
I just think we are ALL better off when we practice Reagan’s 11th Commandment.
