Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #14 Milford, New Hampshire 01/06/08 - Official Discussion Thread
Fox News Channel; Roundtable format
Candidates the gatekeepers are allowing to participating:
Who do you think will carry South Carolina?
-----
Bingo on both counts!
I've moved Romney "above the line," meaning that if he gets the nomination I WILL vote for him. He joins Guiliani and Fred above the line.
One of Mitt's supporters made a good point here a couple of weeks ago. Even if you have some doubt about the sincerity of his position changes, he's more or less committed now to his current - quite conservative - positions. That, combined with his erudition, will let me hold my nose and vote for him if it comes to that. Huckster no way....McCain...we'll see.
Hank
I agree. I'd rather have someone who has 'seen the light'---rather than someone who is wrong, like Rudy, and will NOT change.
As Abraham Lincoln once said when challenged about changing his position on an issue, "I like to think that I am smarter today than I was yesterday".
Just keep telling yourself that.
The strongest candidate is the one the base can get behind.
If the South thinks Fred can win, they will rally behind him because his record is the most conservative.
I would so love to buy that dude for what he is worth and sell him what he thinks he's worth.
Barnes is one of those Washington insiders who thinks he’s a lot smarter then he is, and is more frequently wrong then right.
Well, that is because Fox is biased against FRed! and shilling for Mitt...:)
But hey, we’ll take it!!!
LOL. He’s sooo pretty. No substance, but pretty.
Kristol also mentioned that his daughter was working for Fred Thompson.
“Too true. Fred has the substance but lacks charisma. Unfortunately in our superficial world, he cannot win the election.”
But look at it this way: JFK had plenty of charisma but he was wrong on many issues and did a lot of harm to the country with his SCOTUS nominees..ergo, so much for charisma...
Fred on the other hand is soft spoken, not as charismatic maybe, but he is very smart and is right on about the issues..Also he can develop charisma along the way...Slick Willie wasn’t exactly JFK when he first started in office, he developed his stump speeches, his biting the lip style...etc.,ad nauseum...Reagan was a good speaker too, made much better by Peggy Noonan’s speechwriting, and a terrific sense of timing...Fred is a very intelligent man, he’ll come along, just watch him in the debates against his dimRAT opponents...
What do you think McShame’s chances are down in SC?
Nonsense..
He’s not alienating me. I’m on the site and will vote for our nominee, whoever it may be. But the people who share and publicize that mentality don’t attract the independents and Reagan democrats. And they supress the vote turnout of people with my views that might be more apathetic about the whole process.
What’s wrong with making a payment plan? We do it for furniture.
No,,you’re called youngins’,,listen and learn,,makes you wise.
LOL!
