Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #14 Milford, New Hampshire 01/06/08 - Official Discussion Thread
Fox News Channel; Roundtable format
Candidates the gatekeepers are allowing to participating:
Well I’m in South Carolina, I’m military and as conservative as they come, but I’m doubtful about Fred’s chances here
You are correct. We have to keep the eye on the target.
So you’re going to let a bunch of focus group Liberals lead you by the nose and tell you who to vote for?
Still don’t get why NH just doesn’t like Thompson...Fred Barnes is an a-hole BTW. I’m actually glad Bill Kristol brought it up as a cheap shot.
Exactly. Rudy can beat either one. Mitt might be able to do so...McCain could do it too, but I don’t trust McCain when the democrats control congress.
Acutally it’s neither, they’re dumber than a can of corn (Iowa)...;)
I wish Fred had gotten started earlier. Waiting until SC is a long time to wait to get started.
Yes it’s wrong to have Iowa and NH have so much influence on the election. Alabama should be the first state. They are the most conservative and have among the lowest taxes.
Obama is really really exciting so I guess he will win the White House because he is the most exciting guy around.
NH has become far left-wing except for the libertarians in the Northern part of the state. Not many there know what the Constitution means anymore.
Also a Southerner has never done well in NH. That is why Fred skipped campaigning in the state -- comprehende?
I can’t wait for a debate with Romney and whoever the Democrats send up....no contest at all!
They are just confirming my own observations.
Thank you again. I was going to look up the info, and appreciate your filling me in.
The fact that they like a fast talking slick guy as opposed to a good old boy southern type doesn't surprise me. it's the way people are around here. That being said this Yankee will be voting for him. Win it in the South brother.
Fred’s answer on change was the best, but I must admit when the moderator keeps asking Romney and McCain all the questions, I would LOVE for Thompson to grab the mike and say” I’m paying for this mike, Mr. Green!” :) Now that is the Reagan I want to see him invoke.
These guys have their horses and they will do anything to stomp out the threat.
Fox News CLEARLY sees Fred Thompson as a major threat to their agenda.
Mitt’s honesty about his change of view from pro-choice to pro-life could cause others to reflect on their view. This could be a big plus in the long run.
And, to Salvation, his change only represents a flip, not a flip-flop. It’s a good thing that he came around.
Gov. Goodhair is more of what we have in office right now.
We need a Conservative...not another Moderate.
If I wanted more of the brand of Republican we have in the WH right now...I’d support Rudy.
Yes out here in Colorado we enjoy screwing up an apostrophe once in a while. We prefer that particular mistep over living amidst a stateful of political bafoons. Thanx for asking.
