attrition through enforcement. The problem with these debates is that the moderator doesn't know enough about the subject matter to confront these idiots mistatements and lies.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached a record of 37.9 million in 2007. Immigrants account for one in eight U.S. residents, the highest level in 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13.

Overall, nearly one in three immigrants is an illegal alien. Half of Mexican and Central American immigrants and one-third of South American immigrants are illegal. Since 2000, 10.3 million immigrants have arrived — the highest seven-year period of immigration in U.S. history. More than half of post-2000 arrivals (5.6 million) are estimated to be illegal aliens.

If immigration continues at current levels, the nation’s population will increase from 301 million today to 468 million in 2060 — a 167 million (56 percent) increase. Immigrants plus their descendents will account for 105 million (63 percent) of the increase. The total projected growth of 167 million is equal to the combined populations of Great Britain, France, and Spain. The 105 million from immigration by itself is equal to 13 additional New York Cities. If the annual level of net immigration was reduced to 300,000, future immigration would add 25 million people to the population by 2060, 80 million fewer than the current level of immigration would add.

Both the National Review and the Heritage Foundation have endorsed Romney.

As essentially the lesser of evils.

I'm sure they handicapped this race to evaluate which candidate would be most likely to win the White House. It doesn't mean that Fred or another is not a more solid conservative, but one has to be able to win in November.

You must not have seen him last night.

The Steelers are out of it :-( so there’s no point in watching football.

So are the Bucs. I feel your pain.

Rudolph Giuliani is clueless when it comes to illegal aliens and incapable of handling WOT. Disgusting what a weasel he is. Duncan Hunter was kept out of the debate so he would not make Giuliani and nutty John McCain look really bad.

You are exactly right. The Romney Sleaze Machine extends to his FR supporters (not all but a lot of them).

FT is doing very well but foxnews intent is to have a rehash of the Mitt against the other candidates bout we had last night. Shame on them for not believing people care more about issues than barbs.

That picture of Huckabee’s kid. It looks like the last thing the victim of a mafia hit man sees.

One point is that McCain has been campaigning there for 8 years; Fred has not campaigned there at all. He is in NH for the debates. He got in late and it took a while to get organized. He is putting emphasis and funds on Super Tues.

All the others just want to reach into our pockets and build fences and give us national ID cards and spin and not address the issue!

That’s no parotid gland. That’s the scar from the removal and repair of his third melanoma 7+ years ago. He also had lymph nodes checked. I don’t know if there is any swelling from their lack or if the ‘swelling’ is the best results his doctors could get for what had to be a sizable defect. I don’t prefer McCain for President, but I think it is very bad form to criticize him for this. The melanoma likely came as a side effect of lots of sun exposure. Much of that sun was acquired in service to his country. Criticizing him for this is nearly as bad as it would be to criticize Bob Dole for his bad arm. I say this both as an American who respects his military service and as a Dermatologist!

Hunter & Thompson, in that order, are the strongest on illegal alien issue.
