I think that Jason Lewis was thinking that the party apparatchik would over power the state parties and change the rules for a one day primary. It is really not fair the way it is done now. All you have to do is look at Florida and what is happening with their chosen date, to know that the present system is not working, never mind that Iowa voters picked Huckabee.

Well, every state legislature would have to pass a law to change their date. I don’t think Iowa and New Hampshire would ever change their date. They have had these dates for a very long time and they’re not going to give up these historic dates when they can be the first and second states to do this. Our Texas date is so far from these states and even the big February date that the final presidential candidates of the two parties are already chosen before we vote. That is why the legislature tried to change it to the Super Tuesday February date but couldn’t get the bill passed so we are still the pig tail primary. I sure hope you other states give us (Texas) a good final candidate.
