Ed Rollins: My New Hero
MrArbitrage

Posted on 01/03/2008 7:26:17 PM PST by MrArbitrage123

Ed Rollins is my new hero. It was nice to see him turn the tables on Chris Wallace and put that pompous man in his place.

The treatment Fox News and "conservative" celebrities like Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham & Sean Hannity have given to Mike Huckabee is deserving of shame and infamy. Britt Hume is the one who truly disappoints me. I truly thought he would be above joining in the subtle mockery, condescension and propagation of distorted “facts” on this honorable man.

Frankly, I would not at all be surprised if this so-called “blogger” whom Chris Wall claims “overheard” him in a diner talking about Giuliani was nothing other than a free-lance reporter bought and paid for by the news media or a private investigator paid for by a desperate candidate. That is more likely the REAL story. I float my conjecture, “YOU DECIDE”.

Let's reflect as a nation about WHO may have been the real impetus for this SLEAZY tactic. The establishment media pundits have insulted our intelligence from the moment Huckabee climbed to the top of the polls.

The slogan of “we report, you decide” has been undermined beyond repair. Fox News has stooped to using all of the underhanded tactics perfected by the left-wing media to bring down Mike Huckabee to the point they have sounded more juvenile than a convention of playground bullys.

I fully expect to bombard us with talking points to palliate the magnitude of this decisive victory over the next week. I fully expect for them to spend the next few weeks looking for ways to distort the record of Mike Huckabee. I fully expect them to spend the next few weeks to carefully assassinate the character and question the MOTIVES of Governor Mike Huckabee. I expect them to sum this up as only being a victory for "the Christian right".

To that end I say as I said before on my youtube blogs under the pseudynom “DrArbitrage”, the more they insult our intelligence with this nonsense, the more people will look at Huckabee themselves and see that the slander and libel don't ring true. The TRUTH will win.

I am offended and will never view this network in the same light. I don't think Fox understands the number of viewers they have deeply offended. Fox News is biting the hand that feeds it. Do they think that they made it to the top of cable news because they TAUGHT US what to think? Roger Ailes needs to make some serious changes to these panels.

I am deeply disappointed in them and I cling to the hope that if the venerable Tony Snow were still there that he would not have resorted to the despicable character assassination we have witnessed.

The people are speaking. Let's continue to make history.

You’ve been all over FR tonight repeating the mantra “pro-family” “pro-worker” “pro-life”. What proof of that do you have based on record, not on faith?

This is a serious question—nothing I have seen about Huckabee gives me any reassurance about his conservative credentials, except maybe the abortion issue, but that issue is really up to the judiciary at this point. And we all know that Hitlery or BHusseinO is not going to be at all helpful with that.

But, there comes a time when one must face reality and admit he has next to no chance of winning the nomination.

Hang tough. I'll be damned that a few goofballs in Iowa, depending on winter weather, determine the outcome of a presidential election. Does Iowa count? Not very much...

Oops, Dean didn’t win Iowa! My bad. But Pat Robertson did. Bill Clinton didn’t win Iowa in 1992 and I don’t think Bush won in 2000.

No media spin, no ads, no slime. One item, the so-called “foreign policy” doc, was all I needed to seal the deal against this guy.

I am an unimpressed evangelical. I will vote for our nominee to keep open a prayer of a chance with the Court, but, I’m not liking any thing they are selling right now.

Thanks for setting the FACTS straight.

HisKingdomWillAbolishSinDeath and others like him/her walk around with blinders on, seeing and hearing only what they desire to hear or see.

Facts? We don't need no steeking facts.

Are you prepared for the possibility that he may win the Republican nomination?

Are you prepared for the resulting FDR-scale Dem blowout in the general election?

Ed Rollins was not there to defend Rush - he was working for his candidate. The only time Rush was mentioned was by the CBS reporter:

CBSNews.com:
“Let’s start with the attacks on Governor Huckabee from a lot of Republican establishment figures lately. Rush Limbaugh has called him “the Huckster.” Rich Lowry, the editor of the National Review, has said it would be suicide to nominate him. Why do you think he’s provoking all of this criticism?”

Ed Rollins:
“Well, I think first of all he is not an establishment candidate. I don’t think anybody anticipated early on when he started to run that he would do as well as he’s doing. Some of these guys have picked other candidates.”

“And I think, to a certain extent, the alleged wise men have sat around in either the studios, or the newsrooms, basically writing magazine articles. They didn’t see it coming and I think they underestimated him.” (snip)

I certainly am if Romney or Giuliani won the nomination...

Ronald Reagan’s CAMPAIGN MANAGER - is not welcome in the Republican party.

Everytime Rollins name is mentioned anywhere, it is pointed out he was Reagan' campaign manager. Reagan had a lot of people surrounding him, and Rollins was one of the worst, IMHO. Too dirty for my tastes, will do anything to win. Not very high on conservative principles either. Rollins declared the Reagan coalition dead last week.

Better hurry. You won’t be allowed to buy alcohol under “President Huckabee”.

I want a president who is for less government. A lot less government. I want a president who is for a strong national defense and is wise about when and where to use that defense. I want a president who knows that freedom is a God-given right—that individuals are free to choose their vices and virtues. No government help needed. I want a president who isn’t all for making more laws. Let’s deal with the ones we already have. I want a president who believes that local issues should be decided on a local level and that a good idea for NYC may not be a good idea for Mobile, Alabama.

Britt Hume, Sean Hannity and the rest of the crew at Fox have always sounded like Rudy lovers to me.

Sick bunch.
