Mike Huckabee supporters check in here.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:46:37 PM PST by Arcy

I for one am excited about Huckabee's leading and probably winning in Iowa! Here's a guy who has made REAL income tax reform a high priority of his candidacy. While some of the other candidates have claimed tax reform as part of their plan, non have been more passionate about the need for it and willing to make it a center-piece of their plan for America as Mike Huckabee. I believe that the average American has recognized in Mike Huckabee, a person of integrity and vision, a man who keeps his word, a man of faith, and therfore, is worthy of their support. He certainly has 100% of mine!

I don’t think you read the post correctly, she, and several other dems, are CELEBRATING the prospects of this fraud being the nominee. The guy doesn’t have a clue about foreign policy. He’s right on two issues, faith and abortion. That makes him fit to be what he is, a pastor, not president of the United States.

Hopefully this stupidity will end soon.

A question for you AND ALL HUCKABEE SUPPORTERS: Do pro-life people accept $35,000 honoriums from Novo Nordisk — the largest destroyer of embryos in the world? That’s what Mike Huckabee did.

There are reasons that so many Democrats (Ted Strickland, Terry McAuliffe and others) like Mike Huckabee. He’s a great hope for giving the Dems the White House. Thank you all a lot.

The only people who are more excited by a Huckabee win than the Huck supporters are the people over at the DNC.

Yup

Russ, Russ, Russ....sigh.

Ronald Reagan is dead. His time has passed and you have got to stop thinking like that.

We all loved Reagan, but we are not going to get another Reagan, for many many years to come. Let it go.

I for one, am not a Huck fan. But keep in mind that even if he’s not Reagan, he for damned sure ain’t Hillary and sometimes “just good enough”... is.

Going in to the whole primary/caucus process, I would have preferred Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson. The reality is that neither look like viable candidates now.

Among the four remaining contenders (and it may really be two if McCain wins New Hampshire), Mike Huckabee is, by far, the best choice. Huckabee is the only social conservative left standing. He is the ONLY one that can be trusted to nominate judges to the judiciary. And, he has some very conservative ideas on how to reform the tax code and seems dedicated to building up the military.

It looks like whether Rich Lowry or Rush Limbaugh like or not, Nuckabee has a good chance to be the Republican nominee.

you should realize that you are a major minority here.

I can accept that. I only ask that others' opinions are based on their own beliefs based on their own scrutiny of ALL the candidates, and not what the columnists/talking heads are telling them. If that be the case, then I will happily support whomever our nominee ultimately is.

A Baptist preacher from Hope, Arkansas.....sounds to me like a scary combination of the two worst presidents in history.

There is one conservative (Fred Thompson) with a chance. WE THOMPSON SUPPORTERS need to come through with money (I’ve sent $100) and expose Huckabee’s LOUSY record now, so we don’t have to live this loser later on. By the way, why did the Huckster run the ad he said he wouldn’t run?

I’ve been disappointed with some of my fellow Freepers regarding Huckabee. If they have problems with some of his positions then fine, but some of the comments borderline on personal attacks, thereby breaking Reagan's 10th commandment. I’ll support the Republican nominee, whoever it is, but as for now, I’m supporting Huckabee. I love the idea of the Fair-Tax and how he isn’t afraid to talk about it. I almost get the feeling that some of the other candidates are afraid of talking about real conservative values. Huckabee’s a breath of fresh air to me.

I could not agree more.

Ping list would be fine with me.

Huckabee may be the only GOP candidate who can win (and don’t tell anyone, but I think he may just be the best human being around, for the job).

If you had been here long enough, you’d know thayt many of us here held our noses and voted for Junior in 2000. Somehow, I don’t think we’ll be doing something like that again in 2008. Your guy is not even as appealing to conservatives as Junior marginally was then.

Yea, Thompson really is creating excitement. His enthusiasm is so high! How does he do it? dripping with sarcasm.

LOL, judging by the latest FR-Poll even Rudy enjoys more support here than the Huckster.

Where Huckabee fails is in several key areas:

First off he’s NOT the only social conservative who is pro-life.

Secondly, he’s clueless on foreign policy.

Third, he might talk a good game but his taxation record in Arkansas was bad - he raised more than he cut.

He is HORRIBLE on the immigration issue.

And he’s a nanny-stater who supports a national smoking ban and dietary regulation.

Color me angry at the idiocy of my evangelical friends.

I can't believe this fraud has gotten this far, and I am ashamed at the gullibility of us as evangelicals. Hey, just say Jesus and vote for Huck, don't pay any attention to that man behind the curtain that has a record contrary to what he says, says anything to be elected, and has true believers for voters.

Congrats, you have started the draft Elmer Gantry movement.

Please stoop to have sucker stamped on your foreheads.

jrooney - I am with you on this one. I am so disappointed in the current field of candidates and the pandering of Huckleberry is a particular major disappointment. For crying out loud - the NEA has endorsed him! The wipe out in November if he is the party’s choice will not only guarantee a dem in the white house, but a filibuster proof senate and a veto proof house. Mike Huckabee is not who he seems, is not a ready to be a world leader and is not worthy of being our parties flag bearer. And yeah ... this is coming from one who is a conservative, who is an evangelical and as a pastor - can recognize when some wool is being pulled over my eyes. Holding my nose for sure tonight ...

If Huckabee should get the nomination, which I don’t think will happen, the Dems will make mincemeat of him. I think of all the Rep. primary candidates, Huckabee would be the easiest to beat. He’d be the least appealing to conservative dems and independents. Just my opinion.

Oh, please. A lot of the comments on FR regarding the candidates are nothing but personal attacks. Get over it.
