Applying the McCain MSM spin, Richardson must be in great shape too.

I watched fox before they were on Dish, DTV or Cable. Brit's wife left and I quit watching shortly thereafter. Fox has swung hard left... and that is without taking this election into account. Fox has been swinging left for quite awhile now.. the only FReepers that still take up for them are seeing good things said on Fox about "their" candidate.

Good on ya for the donation... we will pull this out. Too many 'experts" on FR are neophytes in these elections. It is as uncertain who will be the Republican nominee tonight as it was this morning. Surprises loom on the horizon... and they have in every election America has ever had.

“If he falters, though, Rudy is starting to look better and better. Huckster could destroy the GOP for a generation.”

Rudy is the one candidate I will not vote for, and I’m not alone. Huckabee’s “surge” has done nothing to change that. Republicans can not and must not have a pro-choice nominee. If you’re really concerned about the GOP being destroyed, keep that in mind.

Wow, I thought my precinct, Bettendorf 42, was large. Someone said we'd used to be the 3rd largest GOP precinct in the state. We had 191 in attendance. No one spoke for Rudy or Hunter. Huck sent in a state legislator from Ohio. Mitt brought in Denny Hastert, who's former district extended to just across the river from here. Locals spoke for McCain, Fred and Paul.

Rudy 10
Huck 48
Hunter 1
McCain 34
Paul 7
Mitt 77
Fred 14

You said — “He is a Christian, he is NOT a conservative.”

Okay, he passes my *first criteria* (which Thompson and Romney did not). Then we can get into the political matters. And that’s definitely something that will be discussed in the days to come. I’m going to see how that all pans out, after reading a lot of discussion... LOL...

The McCain spin is a bit much. For crying out loud, he's 3% in front of Ron Paul.

The really satisfying news out of Iowa, though, is Giuliani coming in sixth, with 4%.

I don’t know that he’s a cultist. However, I do know that Romney is *definitely* a cult member, as that’s pretty well defined and identified by Christian groups.

By most definitions, a cult is a religious group that demands absolute allegiance and obedience to a charismatic leader, and that discourages or outright disallows contact with others outside the group, including family members. That covers the People'e Temple, Aum Shinrikyo, the Branch Davidians, Heaven's Gate, and any other group I can think of that is by consensus considered a cult. Mormons do not fit that definition.

I've seen a lot of Christian groups that define a "cult" as any group of individuals that do not follow orthodox -- for their own definition of orthodox -- Christian teaching. According to those folks, Buddhism is a cult. The book you endorsed, based on the Amazon summary, endorses that view. That cheapens the word "cult" by reducing it to "any groups whose beliefs aren't mine, or reasonably close to."

Huck has no money and will lose in NH. He’s done after SC

“Romney was banking on the first two states and will lose both. He’s done.

McCain is beyond broke. Even if he wins NH, he has to borrow money to keep going.

Fred has 6 million for his SC firewall. I think he will get a ton of money coming in from scared conservatives trying to keep him going and will emerge from SC victorious.

Still say it comes down to Rudy and Fred from Florida on.”

I find your analysis convincing and I’m holding on to it. May the best man win.

She is as down for the count as the Huckster is up for long haul.

Yes this gives Huckabee an ability to be in the game for the long haul but his win is within the context of a local guy winning in a volatile race where his momentum will be tested very shortly. The great thing tonight is that Hillary, the one to beat for three years straight has been soundly defeated in addition to being humiliated by Edwards edging her into third place. Keep this comment in perspective: Obama has done a great service by knocking down Hillary. I can't be anything but overjoyed at that fact. Edwards won't last but Obama will be a huge thorn for Hillary. I'm loving that.

agree. Huck is in the camp of those who are calling themselves “Progressive Christians”. It’s about being “fair” and making sure that everyone is “equal”. Reality is that equality of outcome is not possible. Delusion of the highest kind.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Vlad Putin, Amadinijad, Kim Jong Il, and all the rest would take Huckabee to the proverbial cleaners. He can lay his evangelical shite on those dudes and they would have his *alls for bookends, because they will bait him and run him like a wagon mule.

When all is said and done, Huckabee is not presidential material for these times on either national security, or the southern border.

No chorus of "glory hallelujah" is going to change any of that. Our enemies are laughing at us as they hope that Huckabee indeed does become president. For them Huckabee woould be far better pickings than would Obama, who at least has some street smarts.

Putin would just ask Huckabee to convert him and pray with him, and then Putin could walk away with anything his little heart desired. Seen it all before. Madeline Albright was much the same, but her religion was feminism, and she was played by our enemies until she was naked holding only an empty purse.
