FREEDOM IS NOT FREE
"Freedom comes to us as the fruit of our responsibility. Only after we have done all we can to create, nurture, protect and utilize our duty to care for Life may we possibly discover a moment of true freedom," to taste the rewards of our labours.

Regardless of where other I seek for an answer they seem to be not fitting to the task of teaching my children what I think best for us.
This seems to bring me back to the idea of home schooling, and self involvement in local affairs and bringing my children along to learn what it is I am doing and why. By time my children will have grown enough to participate they will have years of experience in living.
I also think that my shicldren should learn from you , my neighbors, so they know your thoughts also. "Our children are not our own; they belong to the future. We are but the archer who bends like the bow to launch them on their own journey threw Life." We can only point them in some direction. And the life they lead will be the world we return to next as their children in turn.

Education. Real education and knowledge tends to lead them towards the ideals of both in my experience.

Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.
Nothing don't mean nothing if it ain't free.

Agree with kinoxi. Education is primary — and worrisome when you consider the state of “public education” these days.

Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
Responsibility in it’s broadest interpretation is living with the consequences of your actions. One who will not accept responsibility is not fit for freedom, and won’t ultimately have it.

Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
To experience and utilize good judgement I must there fail at all aspects of experience first?

It is an old military saying. One may learn from the experiences of another and thus avoid some personal failures. But, whether wisdom is gained through education or experience it was originally gained because someone made a mistake.
The US fire code is a good example of this. For many of these codes many people died before they were implemented.

Learning from others, good and bad, is imperative. The tone of this thread seemed a bit bit more ‘down home’ to me. Kids do well with more IMO.
