The third page of a bogus holiday greeting card received by many South Carolina Republicans this week purported to be from from GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney citing controversial passages of the Book of Mormon. The last page features a photograph of a massive temple above a box that says 'Paid for by the Boston Massachusetts Temple' Romney's campaign said it had nothing to do with the cards and a Boston Temple official said the temple had nothing to do with sending mail to South Carolina Republicans, who go to the polls Jan. 19, 2007. My guess is that its from a former Mormon.
Who hates Romney.
One doesn’t need a lot of money to do something like this. A good printer would be all you would need.
A few dozen cards would be all you would need.
I doubt the perp will be caught.
I don't know what it says different in the Mormon Bible, compared to the King James version, as I am Protestant, I think the Catholic Bible has a few variations from the Protestant one..but what do i know?
As if in your long history of anti Mormon postings you didn’t know this. You seem to be no better than those who sent this deceptive card, or Huck when he asked his “don’t mormons believe...” question...
Here it the full context of the passage, with the relevant verse highlighted.
I sure hope the Perp is caught, I hate to see this kind of Pettiness in Politics.
Just for clarification... The Mormon bible (King James Version is what we use) is the same KJV text as everyone else. This passage is from the Book of Mormon, (posted right before this) It is considered scripture to the LDS just as the bible is, written by different peoples than those that inhabited the Middle East.
This wasn’t done by a campaign.
My guess is it was a Hillary or Huckabee supporter.
Seriously, doing this wouldn’t take much work.
You're probably right.
Seriously, does it really say that in the book of Mormon?

Oh please you can’t play niave when you have spoken and initiated this topic before JRochelle quit messing with others heads!
LDS did not admit blacks into priesthood until 1978 (as I understand it most adult males become or can become priests, I hope to be taught if that is incorrect).
Putting that under Romney’s name in that way is a slur on Romney, and LDS in general.
All these years JRochelle likes others to think she is neutral yet every opportunity be as strong as any anti or exer.
Of course the Book of Mormon says that but not the way you and your gang have been spinning it!
Why would you even bother to act innocent wow!
Your creditability has just gone to zero!
Got a feeling Mosteller instigated Huckabee to do a lot of things and in the end remove both Mitt and Huck out of the pitcure!
The Hegelian special
Obviously it’s cross referenced. It’s part of our regular canon.
They don’t have to. this is why they have minions.
Spinning it?
I haven’t been spinning it at all. I have never in my life seen that verse.
I learned long ago that discussing theology with a Mormon isn’t worth the bother. Its like chasing a rabbit around the bush. It never ends and the going in circles makes me dizzy.
The translation foot notes over ride the KJV text.
What’s with the emphasis on “fair and white”? Did a Ron Paul/Stormfront supporter go to all this trouble? I checked an online version of the verse and those words are in lower case.
FOTFL!
You know the feeling is mutual since the other side already has their mind made up what the use of trying!
So we would just sit back and watch you guys unfold your various scenarios!
He’s a DU troll.... if he’s not he should be, with stupid comments like that.
Ok, let’s look, shall we? Here’s a sample. I’ll use Luke 2, straight from our King James Version, since I just read this to my kids on Christmas Eve.
The numbers appear next to a word are actually supersmall text, but it doesn’t translate in a cut and paste situation. When reading, wither in print or online, you have to make a concerted effort to leave the text and go find the foot note reference.
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all athe world should be btaxed.
2 (And this ataxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called aBethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his aespoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her afirstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the binn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the aglory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you agood tidings of great bjoy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is aborn this day in the city of David a bSaviour, which is Christ the cLord.
12 And this shall be a asign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 aGlory to God in the highest, and on earth bpeace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with ahaste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it awondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and apondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the acircumcising of the child, his name was called bJESUS, which was so cnamed of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
