Amazing! You should bring this to the attention of Rush, Glenn Beck, and Hannity.
Have you bothered to check if they DO have any adware that might provoke this response? Just contact the people at the American Spectator website and advise them to check with Google about the situation. It’s probably something easily fixed, if true, or if it is bogus, Google will likely back down when questioned.
Google is one to talk. I picked up a nasty trojan virus from the Google tool bar. It took my super tech savvy son in-law to clean it out.
Begs the question:
Does "The American Spectator" install malicious software on your computer ?
If they do, Google is doing internet users a service, if not they are engaged in possible litigation.
While I haven’t encountered that particular warning, I get warnings and am asked if I want to proceed to view my children’s report cards.
I’m not surprised. Google is run by little Stalinists. They have lots of tricks like this, and many more to come. Pitiful. The good news is that Google is being exposed, slowly, for their Stalinist tactics. One day, there will be another search engine that will beat out the Google Leftists, and that will be good.
who runs stopbadware.org?
Use Scroogle. I’ve added it to my Firefox search engines. Somehow it piggybacks Google, but Google gets no benefit. Scroogle!! (And Scroogle doesn’t show that “may harm your computer” message.)
I can understand that because Google doesn't want to appear to endorse websites that encourage illegal behavior. But to apply this to The American Spectator is B.S. What's ironic is that they don't give this message for websites that carry The Anarchist's Cookbook. I didn't provide links, you can look it up.
You know what’s even scarier? The realization that Noel Sheppard uses IE for a browser.
Ahhh... the little maggots at Google have added a line ... meta name=”description” content=”This site may harm your computer.”... to The American Spectator’s index.html page.
Do we know for sure that there ISN’T a problem with that site?
New entries can be submitted at http://www.stopbadware.org/home/new - I imagine someone is abusing that to slam sites.
Ironic that perhaps StopBadWare.org might be “badware” itself.
This is one of the problems with Newsbusters sometimes, their agenda gets in the way of objectivity. I personally appreciate being warned about sites that bomb you with crap.
But I also agree with others that Google toolbar itself can cause problems. I took it off.
Google ist shark de la jumptin.
My websites cause Global Warming.
That is why I have used Scroogle for my searches for several years now.

How can I find out if my site has been identified as a web site that hosts or distributes malicious software and what can I do if it has?
You can find out if your site has been identified as a site that may host or distribute malicious software (one type of "badware") by checking the Overview page for the site in Google webmaster tools (Note: you need to verify site ownership to see this information).
This identification is based in part on guidelines set by StopBadware.org. However, Google uses its own criteria, procedures, and tools to identify sites that host or distribute badware. If you feel your site has been mistakenly identified, or if you make changes to your site so that it no longer hosts or distributes malicious software and you secure your site so that it is no longer vulnerable to the insertion of badware, you can request that your site be reviewed.
Once you have reviewed your site and are sure it is clean, you can can submit a request for review:
We'll review your site and, if we determine that it doesn't host or distribute badware, we'll remove the identification from the search results.

The Spectator can do this. Not a big deal.
can you believe someone has actually pulled off that what they are doing?
I'd give anything for the days of ma bell and the us mail.
