Ron Paul - Just Another Career Politician
LoneStar Times ^ | December 19, 2007 | Matt Bramanti

Posted on 12/27/2007 11:20:42 AM PST by PlainOleAmerican

When he isn’t calling people fascists for saying Merry Christmas, inciting his minions to disrupt other presidential campaigns or running around the country flirting with the idea that Bushco brought down the Twin Towers, the honorable Dr. Ron Paul is a congressman.

His army of anarchists, anti-war peaceniks and somewhat sane Libertarians like to say that he is a “different kind” of politician. Turns out he’s just another ordinary career politician, earmarking pork for people in his district. Before voting against it for appearance sakes, of course.

So much for a citizen legislature. 20 years and counting? Well, maybe not.

My first reaction to a story about Paul possible losing the congressional race was to laugh it off. But that was before the honorable one lost his last remaining marble. There are a lot of people in his district that say “Merry Christmas” without the slightest inkling that it is a secret code phrase for fascism.

And when these people start asking questions about that, they are going to find that Ron Paul is the only candidate being endorsed by racists and fascists. Perhaps, when they look, they will ask, is there anyone else running for CD-14’s seat?

You gotta love how his fellow Texans feel about him...

I’d say he’s finally embarrassed the voters in his own district to the point they are going to cheerfully fire his silly ass next fall.

Isn’t a Republican named Chris Peden opposing Paul for his congressional seat?

Run Paul is a lunatic who accepts the explanations of al Qaeda and blames America, just like al Qaeda does, for the attacks they launch on us. What else needs to be said about him.

Sometimes an image can describe an entire campaign:

Cindy Sheehan and Stormfront leader Jamie Kelso at a Ron Paul rally in Ft. Worth.

What you didn’t bother to say is that the article you cited is simply a blog run by Matt Bramanti, who is actively campaigning on his site for Chris Peden, one of the opponents seeking RP’s Congressional seat. Had you posted the rest of the article, his bias would have been blatantly obvious.

Even in the Socialist mecca of Kalifornicate — I’ve been amused by the fervor displayed by the local Stalinists who have flocked to the banner of Ron Paul...

The only trouble is, they’re hanging their damned Ron Paul banners, posters and pictures all over the damned place — creating a mess almost equal to the pain in the ass of having to listen to Ron Paul himself...

That’s for real? That’s not Photoshopped? Mother Sheehan hanging out with a white supremacist? Oh, that’s beautiful. She’s cheating on Revund Jesse with a Stormfronter!

Gee, anyone pointing out that Run Paul is an anti-American crank is really, really a bad person.

That’s why it’s always good to read beyond the headlines...

Bias is your problem? You have not found Paulestinians to be “biased?”

LOL

The thing that really marks this article as an excellent piece of professional journalism is its balanced tone, the writer's detachment, and the fair-minded manner in which the author brings points both pro and con to the article.

[snerk!]

I don't guess this guy ought to hold his breath waiting for the Pulitzer.

I will seriously bet any freeper a $100 donation to FR that Paul retains his seat if he runs. Any takers?

Good luck to Peden with that. Once Paul drops from the presidential race, he'll have all sorts of money to draw from to run for his re-election.
