Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been critically injured after a suspected suicide attack at a political rally in Pakistan.

It was believed to be a suicide attackShe is undergoing emergency surgery at a nearby hospital, Sky News sources say.

The explosion went off just after Ms Bhutto left the rally in Rawalpindi, minutes after her speech to thousands of people.

You are right...and it was reported she was still alive when they reached the hospital, where she died then.

It seems difficult that one person could have gotten 5 shots off at her, then got in his vehicle and used that for the suicide bombing.

That's a new detail that seems more likely than the bomber shooting her and then blowing himself up.

Similar situation here, with a lovely Pakistani family whose business I frequent, and their comments are that the military should have no role to play in politics. Musharraf’s regime is destroying the country.

Just watched a video that had the noise of the bomb going off. No shots seemed to be fired prior to the explosion.
