Senator Fred Thompson had this video produced to thank our troops for their courage and sacrifice, and to let them know they are not forgotten as they are away from their loved ones during the Christmas holiday.
December 22, 2007
Dear Friend:
In this season when we are thankful for the many blessings our freedom enables, we should also remember the hundreds of thousands of men and women, sons and daughters, and friends who are defending America's security.
Their faithful devotion and defense to our founding principles protects us and is allowing freedom to spread in lands formerly ruled by tyranny.
The victory that they are winning against the threats of radical terrorists will be the clarion call that goes out to all the world's tyrants, that America will fight for those oppressed and deliver God's great gift of freedom.
As they go about their duties, we pray that they will be safe and comforted by all those here at home praying for them.
Senator Fred Thompson had this video produced to thank our troops for their courage and sacrifice, and to let them know they are not forgotten as they are away from their loved ones during the Christmas holiday.
We would ask that you take the time and forward this to any active duty military soldier, reservist and veteran in your e-mail address book and ask them to do the same. Please also forward this to all of your family, friends and associates and ask them to do the same.
We join Fred in wishing each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Sincerely yours,
Major General James Livingston Joe Repya USMC (Retired) LTC US Army (Retired) Medal of Honor Recipient National Executive Director Co-Chair, National Steering Committee Veterans for Fred Thompson Veterans for Fred Thompson

Go FRed Go!
No matter what happens, I appreciate Fred doing this. Thank you Fred and good luck in Iowa.
That was nice. He made the troops the stars instead of himself.
Best of the bunch so far. Rudy’s and Hill’s were total crap and the others just a wee better than theirs. As a kid, all my close older male relatives were either in Europe or the South Pacific during Christmas 1944. I can relate to this in my memory of my WW II years as a kid. I was a lot more fortunate than they were over the years.
Interesting .. Fred’s not in the video .. BECAUSE THE TRIBUTE IS TO THE MILITARY .. NOT FRED.
LOVE IT!!
Yea, where’s the shameless pandering with “presents” paid for out of our own pockets (ala hillary)?!
Go Fred!
“That was nice. He made the troops the stars instead of himself.”
Well said.
And they really ARE the stars! God bless them, every one.
Yes in my mind Fred is the best candidate out there for the Republicans. I put Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee and McQueeq at the bottom and in that order.
Fred's Christmas message to the troops Must watch video ping!
Brilliant ...just brilliant!
Stands and applauds with tears in my eyes.
Merry CHRISTmas to our troops and their families.
May God hold them in His holy light.
Thank you Fred. May God bless you and your family.
Merry CHRISTmas to all.
That was wonderful!
Thanks for posting that.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Very classy, as is Fred. The troops are the centerpiece and not Fred. Go Fred!
Thanks for the post. Thats a powerful video.
Fred Thompson campaign office staff in Iowa and South Carolina today report phones ringing off the hook, growing numbers of Thompson supporters, and they especially emphasize the large numberabout 60 percentof people in the undecided category.
If youre undecided and you start paying attention now, what do you see? You see Romney and Huckabee beginning to crumble because of newly disclosed flips, flops, untruths, various stumbles and gaffes. You see Giuliani fading.
And then you see Fred Thompson slowly but surely building real momentum, like the oncoming train mentioned by Rush on Friday. (Rush was describing conservatism in general, but I have hopes that he was secretly making reference to Thompson.)
That’s what I noticed too. FDT is a class act.
