DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey has apologized to Barack Obama for any unintentional insult he committed by raising the Democratic presidential candidate's Muslim heritage while endorsing rival candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Kerrey sent a letter to Obama on Wednesday, lauding the Illinois senator's qualifications to be president and saying that he never meant to harm his candidacy. Kerrey told The Associated Press in a telephone interview that he sent the letter on his own and had not spoken to Clinton or her campaign about the comments he made Sunday in Iowa.
"What I found myself getting into in Iowa - and it was my own fault - it was the wrong moment to do it and it was insulting," Kerrey told the AP. "I meant no disrespect at all."

I’m sorry I called you a Muslim. Not that there’s anything WRONG with that.
Hillary & Company must assume that the democratic base is just as bigoted and stupid as they are...oh, nevermind.
Kerry is such an ass.
They do have that pattern down pat, don’t they.
It’s funny that Kerrey should mention “Obama” and “Muslim” in the same sentence. After all, only about 1.3 billion people would consider Obama to be a Muslim.
Keep an eye out for the lash marks on Kerrey’s tush. Every candidate will need a sacrificial lamb or two by the time this campaign is through.
Ty Cobb was once tossed out of the first game of a double header for cursing at the home plate ump over a called strike.
At the start of the second game, Cobb walks up to the plate to lead off, all smiles, and asks the ump a question.."Can I get thrown out for thinking?".
The ump, well accustomed to Cobb's known eccentricities, tells him "No."
At which point, Cobb says.."Good. I think you're a %$^%^*(&^^%%^&*())blankety-blank%$$#^&*(!!!!"
And promptly gets tossed out again..
I guess they didn’t get enough out of it the first time so they had to take another swipe. Whiff of desparation getting pretty strong in Iowa.
I like it!
What, exactly, is the RIGHT moment to be insulting, I wonder?
De nada.....
Hope Obama has steel ones - he's going to need 'em.
So, the rules are — no mean words to Obamie or Hillary? Because mean words — that speak the Truth, or at least seek the Truth — those can hurt a person’s feelings? Not that it would be so bad to really understand whether or not he attended a MUSLIM school, when we are in a World War with them, currently.
Oh, I see (said the blind man).
I think he’ll probably keep aplogizing every week right up tp the election.
Standard Clintion playbook....Slime, apologize(under pressure from Hilary(who was baking cookies, knew nothing and is a heroic leader for holding the high moral ground) mentioning again the slime, resign, take new position in campaign somewhere else. And, expect appointment in the Clintonian regime.
"Nice to mole you -- meet you! I meant meet you!"
Slime, apologize, repeat. Sounds like a bad shampoo.
Mrs. Obama is being interviewed on GMA and says, "You know Meredith, those mean, nasty Republicans will ask Hillary about her $100,000 profit from a short sale, in the futures commodities market, with a $100 investment, and it only took ONE WEEK.
You know that Karl Rove will suggest that the $100,000 was a bribe. I, personally, will defend Hillary's right to take, errr, I mean make, $100,000 in ONE WEEK, with a $100 investment, but the Republicans will point out that prior to that investment, Hillary NEVER invested in the commodities market, and after that $ 100,000 payoff, errr, profit, she NEVER again invested in that market.
The Republicans will point out that it sure looks and smells like a payoff. Now I'm just doing this to help her out.
