In addition to raising auto fuel efficiency standards 40 percent, an energy bill passed by Congress yesterday bans the incandescent light bulb by 2014.

I mean the new top loaders. The front loaders do work well (or so I’ve heard), but they are very expensive. Many people can’t afford them or just don’t want to spend that much $ on a washing machine.

WOW!! Those EXPENSIVE GENERAL ELECTRIC light bulbs that have MERCURY in them and have to be DISPOSED of ONLY in a certain way!! GE must have DONATED MILLIONS to these LOSERS!
Yeah. Hillary will be sure to un-do the law.
Jorge’s coyote buddies stand to make a huge amount of money smuggling light bulbs from Mexico...

You don’t screw in a lightbulb, you screw in a Chevy.
LOW FLUSH TOILETS....No more cheap FREON, and now THESE DANGEROUS and EXPENSIVE BULBS!
I heard the same thing about the Prius and other hybrids, I think you can find the info at mikechurch.com...in his global warming archive
Actually, do they really have any authority to ban a technology? So, folks, start stocking up on 100W bulbs. Just fill 1 closet in your home. That should be enough until smarter folks replace the dolts now ensconsed in Congress.
Yah, wait until you are caught with them during an unannounced house inspection.

""Begining January 1, 2012, incandescent bulbs shall no longer be manufactured or sold in the United States"".
