"They state the bulbs last 5 years....had one in the bath that died at 6 months"

How about 2 - 3 months. None that I have purchased have lasted 6 months.

Had a bunch that died in a couple of weeks. Not to mention they don’t have a nice soft glow.

This one is sold under the Kenmore label

Thats actually a Frigidaire with the Kenmore label, and yes they
work very well. I currently have the Maytag Neptune that washes
better then any washer I've ever seen or worked on. Both use very
little water and actually pay for themselves over about 5-years
when compared to the toploaders. Either is a very good choice.

When incandescent light bulbs are outlawed...

I'll by a tractor trailer full and sell em. Another chance to make some $$$$$ like the low flush toilets. (;-)

Serious as a heart attack. I had one try to hatch one of my Titleists it found out in the field. We wondered why she was sitting while everyone else was eating, moved her and, surprise!

Bulb Prohibition. You should be able to stock up a warehouse now and sell them in 2012. So if you stock up with 100,000 bulbs at 50 cents a piece and sell them after prohibition for 2 bucks a pop, that is a cool $150K.

Not as good as drugs or alcohol profit margins but still not bad.

Here’s some tidbits for thought. What about: car headlights, halogen lights, low voltage lights, marquee lights, billboard lights, car dealership lights, Vegas, and will there be a huge movement to put out the lightbulb that has been burning for a 100 years in San Francisco.

You should take a bath more often ... then again it would not have lasted six months ... are you ok?

I can’t tell the differences in car colors at night under fluorescents. Red looks like grey, etc. Imagine a football game (or a ballet) where everyone’s lit up fluorescent. Ick.

We’ll tell all the illegals that they can get a fast track to citizenship if they bring 100 light bulbs with them when they cross the border. Then we tell the light brigade and they slap the cuffs on ‘em

The Prius dirtier than a Hummer, according to a story in the Philadelphia Inquirer:

www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/20070404_hidden_cost_of_driving_a_Prius.html

In short, the nickel for the battery has to be mined in northern Ontario, smelted (inside a sulfur dioxide spewing plant), shipped to Wales for refining, then to China, where it's made into Nickel foam, and then to Japan.

Not very clean, but really, the car is all about image, not efficiency. That's why I call it the Toyota Pious.
