..But John Bailey, then the director of Arkansass state police, tells NEWSWEEK that Governor Huckabees chief of staff and personal lawyer both leaned on him to write a letter officially denying the local prosecutors request. Bailey, a career officer who had been appointed chief by Huckabees Democratic predecessor, said he viewed the lawyers intervention as improper and terminated the conversation. Seven months later, he was called into Huckabees office and fired. Ive lost confidence in your ability to do your job, Bailey says Huckabee told him. One reason Huckabee cited was I couldnt get you to help me with my son when I had that problem, according to Bailey. Without question, [Huckabee] was making a conscious attempt to keep the state police from investigating his son, says I. C. Smith, the former FBI chief in Little Rock, who worked closely with Bailey and called him a courageous and very solid professional

Nice research!
Thanks, Ken H.
I spent about ten minutes on that which makes me wonder what else is out there.
Gomer Huckabee Jr. should share a cell with Michael Vick. What a lowlife scumbag.
Stripes are sooo slimming for slimers.......
The Huckabees are truly vile. But Miguel Huckabee mentions Jesus every 5 seconds, so there he is leading Iowa. Damn but there are some friggin imbeciles in our party.
His actions remind me of a young Jeffrey Dahmer.
Huckabee = Clinton light.
Yeah. If he'd been Mormon he might have tortured Jello by dicing some celery into it.
Mitt's dog suffered no harm whatsoever.
Are you sure ? Did you ask the dog how it felt riding on the top of a station wagon for several hours ?
Then I saw a family photograph of his family that basically amounted to them looking like a bunch of fatass rednecks.
So, I thought to myself: I can still support his candidacy as long as Huckabee doesn't say something ignorant or his family isn't a bunch of rednecks.
Well, too late. Both things have happened recently, so bye bye Huckabee.
Nope, it's the Hildebeest's dream to have Huckleberry to run against. She can out-nanny him for those who like to be told what to think, and she knows that freedom-loving Americans will not work to get him elected.
It's a distinct possibility:
Lets get back to real issues, not some teenage prank gone bad.
Bull. If that's true, then why not wait until Huck's got the nomination?
I don’t think there was any sexual abuse. Of course, sexual abuse is such a well hidden crime, it’s impossible to be sure. But there were no signs of it. He never acted out in any sexual way.
I’d have to rule out bipolar disorder (manic-depression). Not only did he not have severe mood swings or emotional outbursts, he was seemingly emotionless over the suffering he inflicted. Like he was merely studying the process.
We all treated his behavior the same as any other undesirable childhood behavior. We didn’t give a strong reaction. Just a little mild criticism. (I was picked on worse than that for being a tattle tail.) Mostly, we’d just walk away from him and refuse to watch. He was intrigued by various aspects, and seemed to want to share that with us. He always seemed surprised at our lack of curiosity or interest. But it didn’t stop him.
I don’t think his parents were aware of his problem. At least not the extent of it. There was one incident they knew about, but I think it was the only one. He ran his mother’s Siamese kittens through part of a spin cycle in the washing machine, a few times. It was a big shock to his mother. But his parents seemed to think it was an isolated incident. There was the long lecture, a few lashes of the belt, and extra chores.
I’d like to offer some insight, but it’s still a mystery to me. He was no different from any of us, except for his occasional abuse of animals. You’d never guess he had a dark side.
That is sick. BTW, Jeffrey Dahmer started with animals. Is this what the voters want in the White House? God help us.
I know you didn’t ask me, but I think Jeffrey Dahmer fits that category.
Actually, I think Huckabee, if these allegations are true, saved the taxpayers an unnecessary trial. The idea we are going to waste police resources every time some kid kills an animal is outrage.
Lets get back to real issues, not some teenage prank gone bad.”

Torturing an animal to death is not a teenage prank. Good hunters go out of their way to get clean shots, so that the animal doesn’t suffer. I find Huckabee’s son’s and his own behavior to be disgusting.
If the story is true, he allowed his son to get away with a crime and took someone’s job away to cover up his son’s deed. We don’t need someone like that in the White House.
“Yes, like most of you, I was a dumb teenager, who knew nothing about life except what a godless school system taught me.”
This teenager was the son of a well known pastor. I would think he would have known something about God, and life.
Interesting. Thanks to every poster.
