After being a Legal Permanent U.S. Resident for the past 35 years (Canadian citizen /my hubby is U.S. citizen by birth), yesterday December 14, 2007, I was sworn in as a U.S. CITIZEN at the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH !! I am SO PROUD and SO EXCITED !!
93 new citizens were sworn in from 33 different countries! It was a WONDERFUL ceremony ! Every nationality you could imagine was represented !
Within 3 hours of getting sworn in, I went to my local Town Hall and REGISTERED TO VOTE ! So I will be "good to go" for the New Hampshire Primary on January 8th ! whooo-hooo !!!
Welcome! Congratulations to you!! I’m proud of you.
Beautiful! Congratulations!
Congratulations!!!! How long did the process take since you had applied until you swore the oath?
Welcome! You must feel so proud.
Outstanding!!
Congratulations!
Congratulations! You do us all proud in showing respect for us by becoming a legal citizen rather than just skittering around the shadows. We need more immigrants like you.
We really need an organization dedicated to assisting America loving immigrants in their efforts to become citizens. Those that love the principles that this country was founded on should be moved to the front of the line.
Congratulations!!! I’m proud to be able to call you a fellow citizen. (I love these stories.)
Very cool!
Congratulations, we’re glad to have you as a fellow American!
Here's a little suggestion to you from a Gay Stater (right down I-93 from ya,perhaps).IIRC,NH has the same kind of law that we have down here that allows you to register as "independent" or "unenrolled".By doing so,you can take a ballot for *either* party on primary day and then change to whatever other status you choose (Republican, independent, etc). That was you can,for example, take a democrat ballot and vote for the most outrageous of the candidates (Kusinich?) and really foul up the works.I've done that here in the Gay State and love doing it.Perfectly legal and more fun than you can imagine.
Just a suggestion.
You have more appreciation for citizenship in the U.S.A. than most born here! Congratulations and WELCOME, FELLOW CITIZEN!
Thank you for the good wishes. As you can well imagine, illegal immigration and the “amnesty” legislation that almost got passed last June, is a real SORE point with me ! When that law was being debated, I called our Senators’ offices, and Congressmans’ Offices and SCREAMED blue murder about it !! I made sure they understood that this was a TOTAL INSULT to those of us who are in the “LEGAL pipeline”, waiting to be processed the proper way.
Thank you for caring enough about your country(sounds nice dont it?,lol)to do it the right way. Welcome home American!!!
Congratulations!!
Congadulations and Merry Christmas.
Congratulations!
