COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The man who killed four people at a church and missionary training center died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound, police said Tuesday.
Matthew Murray, 24, was struck multiple times by a security officer at New Life Church Sunday but died after firing a single shot at himself, the El Paso County Coroner's Office concluded after an autopsy.

Does anyone know
where there's a second photo
of this shooter kid?
I've seen the picture
of him playing keyboards, but
I've seen another
of him with long hair
and dark glasses looking like
a Hanson Brother!
If somebody knows
a link to the second pic,
it would help me out...

I am actually happy that the final shot was his own, to spare Ms. Hassam’s conscience that she didn’t end his life. She stopped him and, coward that he was, he took his own life. She is still my nominee for TIME Person of the Year, and frontrunner for the 2008 GOP Nomination.

Even a case of .223 isn’t light if you’re planning on moving quick.

"Not if he had 1,000 rounds of ammo. That would be an entire CASE of ammo. Tijeras_Slim and I are discussing that now."The cops haven't been giving out info at all, until it appears they are certain. I think much of the "facts" such as rifle, helmet, body armor... are just rumor. It makes no sense that anyone would attempt to reload mags during such an assault, or carry such a qty of ammo during an assault.

One could look at it that if she wasn’t fired she might have remained with that PD and not ended up in Colorado in 2007 in a position to save lives.

Wouldnt a reprimand be more in line with the offense?
There must be more to the story.
I'm not in law enforcement.
It does seem a tad harsh...but maybe she got caught on a bad day,
sugar-coated the confrontation...and then video (and audio?) tape
caught her telling a fib about a minor altercation.
And if she had made her original statement under oath, maybe
she was edging into perjury/obstruction of justice (???).
Seeing how well she comported herself on Sunday...maybe there was
a professional jealousy factor and some mediocre colleagues
decided to "have her badge".
Instead of helping her avoid resignation/firing.

I have a feeling the DBM can’t tell the difference between an assault rifle, shotgun or pistol if they had all three displayed on a table in front of them.

The more convaluted the press makes the story, the more the truth is washed out. We need the police and coroner’s reports.

It makes no sense that anyone would attempt to reload mags during such an assault, or carry such a qty of ammo during an assault. I think such a consideration is the least of his irrationalities. These guys just pile on the junk so they can have their feeble illusions of being Mr. Terminator.

Even a case of .223 isnt light if youre planning on moving quick. I've had as many as five M60 machine gun belts - plus carrying the M60 - on my shoulder and those aren't light either. Never had to carry the M2.

If there is justice in the world, the Colorado Springs PD will offer her a job.

Coming at this purely from a womans perspective here... Actually, it's pretty well-documented that cops involved in fatal shootings have a much higher suicide rate than cops who haven't, even if the shooting was justified.
The only exception seems to be cops who were shot while wearing body-armor and killed the perp who shot them. The logic seems to be that, since the perp actually shot them, there is absolutely no doubt that the shooting was justified.
People who shoot perps are more often than not harrassed by the perp's family and strangers who phone them in the middle of the night to call them baby-killers and such.
Bottom line is that you're right, it's better not to have even a justified killing on your conscience.

The stature indicated in the guy’s pic indicates he would have been hunched over with 1000 rnds of even 223. If it were shotgun shells he’d need assistance of several church patrons to get him up off the ground and move him along. ...but maybe the some info about a little red wagon will be forthcoming.

The cops haven't been giving out info at all, until it appears they are certain. That may be true. I think the DBM is just reporting anything they hear through the "grapevine".

Q:How are a AK, and Mossberg 500, and a Glock the same?
DBM: They’re eeeeevillll.

I was thinking that as a former cop, she was close enough to him for a kill shot and familiar enough with guns and shooting to make one if she wanted to... Cops miss over 90% of the time from 75 feet, and over half the time from 6 feet. How far apart were they, when she shot him?
