Reasoning with the Ron Paul Cult is like?
12/11/07

Posted on 12/11/2007 10:32:20 AM PST by april15Bendovr

Reasoning with the Ron Paul Cult is equal to Reasoning with

Al Gore about the Environment

Linsay Lohan about addiction

Jack Cafferty about the War in Iraq

Baghdad Bob, Same problem as Jack Cafferty above

Amadinejad about the Holocaust

Convincing Heavens Gate there was no UFO on the trail of the Hale Bop comet coming to give them a ride.

And last

Trying to convince Ru Paul he is really a man and not a women.

“I wouldn’t trust Ron Paul ten minutes with our military.”....I wouldn’t trust any of the others with my grand-daughter let alone the military.

I've seen nothing to incidate any of the other candidates couldn't be trusted with a minor, which I'm assuming your grandaughter is.

Since you bring grandaughters, and daughters, to the thread, to my knowledge there's only one candidate in the race who supports transport of a minor across state lines to purchase an abortion, or anything else I presume, without parental permission.

I'm in no way suggesting that's a situation you or your grandaughter would ever face, but it is an issue.

I would have to say that the most disappointing facets of modern day politics is that libertarians are such pacifists when it comes to foreign policy. As a whole, their platform is quite attractive except for this glaring deficiency.

You figured out that "Niteranger68" is a statist nutjub just from that post? Just becacuse he doesn't care for Paul, you call him a "statist nut-job."...And you wonder why this thread exists in the first place, and why FReepers laugh at Paul's supporters.

:>)

I can't imagine why anyone would hear Paul supporter and think cult either.

Paul supporters don’t really expect to place or win anywhere becaue they think the whole process is “rigged” against them. And it would be rigged if necessary.’

Rigged? No....

(12/4) Rasmussen today lists Giuliani and Huckabee tied at 18% each, closely followed by McCain with 14%, Thompson with 13% and Romney at 12%. If the GOP primary were held today and these were your choices, which one would you choose?

Giuliani

Huckabee

McCain

Thompson

Romney

Probably Thompson, but the three House members were left out.

You said: You figured out that "Niteranger68" is a statist nutjub just from that post? Just becacuse he doesn't care for Paul, you call him a "statist nut-job."

Let me help you understand:

BeelzeBubba: But the more you statist nut-jobs smear him, the more seriously I consider him.

Niteranger68: That says more about you than it does about us.

BeelzeBubba: Admitting to being a statist nut-job just about says it all.

You see, when Niteranger68 said "us" when referring to statist nut-jobs, he was implying that he counts himself among them. I guess where you differ from a Ron Paul supporter is that RP supporters comprehend what is implied as well as what is stated outright.

It's OK. Jim Robinson and the Mods pretty much laugh at Ron Paul and his cult as well. ;-)

Look, I've seen enough to know I want nothing to do with Paul or his supporters. I don't need more evidence.

Giuliani: 18%
Romney: 12%
McCain: 11%

LOL if I were you two shills, I wouldn't be that concerned with what a 'lowly' poster on an internet board thinks. You'd best be firing off emails to Jonah Goldberg, the current editor of the NRO.
Buckley was right in 1952: Much "hard thinking" was required of conservatives. And it is required of us again. So it's good news that Paul is running. Alas, too many conservatives dismiss him out of hand rather than engage him. The Rothbard-Paul vision was rightly defeated during the Cold War. Now that the Cold War is over, it seems not only fair but wise to give it another hearing--and if it can't be defeated on the merits, it deserves to win.
and John Derbyshire at the same publication
If you think that our efforts against jihadist terrorism constitute World War Four (I don't), you will not want Ron Paul for president. (Jonah Goldberg's article "The Tradition of Ron Paul" in the Dec. 17 issue of National Review is key reading in that context.) If you think there would be a whole world of difference between what Hillary Clinton would accomplish in the Rome-of-the-Borgias down there on the Potomac, by comparison with what Rudy, or Fred, or Mitt would accomplish, you won't be supporting Paul.

If, however, you think that much of the underbrush that has grown up around our national institutions this past 40 years needs to by pulled up by the roots and burned, before it chokes the life out of our Republic, then Paul's your man.

The 'cause' (whatever the heck Junior says it is today) may be falling apart around you when even the NRO is starting to question you. But heck just toss them under the bus too eh? Cause only you two have the real news (with cool translated documents too!! And a decoder ring!!) that hardly anyone in the real world believes anymore...

I won't even bother discussing that you think Mona Charen could write a history book...

ha ha, well, I like these spoof threads and generally have half(:>) a wit to contribute. Truth is I mute a lot of the political blarg on TV and radio as people have been talking of the "next" election since the end of the "last election. As I live just South of a very liberal city and judging by all the Ron Paul posters I see when I drive through he's most probably not the guy I'd vote for....of course I'm not very well informed (by decision) excepting on Hilarity, McCain, Obamamama, Guiliani, uh, *ahem*, once a freeper always... trying to ignore all the bad politics is like trying TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING!!

most of the time it turns into insults and namecalling from the antipaul folk, I’ve found, so this is sort of all backwards, IMO.

“You know, I have another preferred presidential candidat,”

Dennis Kucinich?

No, the only conservative contender. I’ve been a Freeper for a while, long time Republicam, and hard-core conservative.

I share Reagan’s view that libertarianism is the core of conservative principles.

I considered Paul to be my favorite congressman for years.

And I think that the smears by anti-liberty “conservatives” are pathetic and juvenile.
