It is very obvious that Fred Thompson is Free Republic most favorite candidate and by far. On the other hand every other top tier Republican candidate, Guiliani, Romney, Huckabee, and McCain are absolutely disdained by most Freepers. Therefore this is the important question:
What would Free Republic do if Fred Thompson is not the Republican Party Nominee?

Let's not think about it or worry about it until that actually happens, until then, all of us need to join together and support Fred Thompson so he can BE the GOP nominee.

Dear Congressman Billybob,
“You’re gonna have two choices.”
Nah. There will be other parties on the ballot in Maryland. The Constitution Party has made it the last few times.
And if not, I’ll write someone in.
Maybe myself.
I’m not voting for a baby-murdering liberal for president, whether he/she has an “R” or a “D” plastered to his/her backside.

Logical, but cynical, answer! My respects. I’m not so sure as you that CA is a write-off. I hope your attitude toward CA elections (Gov., AG, Props, etc.) is different or we will never change this state.

Borg Queen...HA! that’s a good reference...it had never occured to me before...
I’ve always liked Hitlery myself...the nickname, not the candidate...
To: Viking2002
I will vote for whomever our nominee is, because the alternative of Obama Hussein or The Borg Queen is too frightening to contemplate.ROFL! Agreed!

I would vote for any Republican before any Democrat. A Democrat president and congress working together will bring this country to an end and load the Supreme Court with communists for a generation.

No way would I vote for the liberal RINO Huckabee.

The irony...FOXNEWS Geraldo interviews Mike Huckabee and all I can say is WOW! Beware of whom the MSM courts. . .projects and protects. Think they at least imagine they are preparing them for 'dinner'. Good manners, first. . .and then; the ugly feast to follow.

We haven’t had one primary election vote yet and you’re counting on the Huckster winning. LMAO Like I said, you’re pathetic. The Huckster is no conservative. Fred calls him a pro-life liberal. I concur.
Mike Huckabee = Jimmah Dubya Clinton. ;^)

As long as it isn’t Rudy, I’ll hold my nose and vote for the Republican. In fact, at this point, it looks like the Huckster is going to win the nomination.

As a die-hard FRED supporter, I do not remember Free Republic ever “blessing” any particular candidate. It sometimes appears that FRED has the backing of lots of posters on Free Republic, which I think is a credit to their good sense.

Can we write in Thompson’s name anyway on the ballot even if he does not get the nomination ?
To: roamer_1
“Whether we agree or not is of little difference. If the Republicans do not support their Conservative roots, the rest is just an inevitability.”
I agree that our agreement is of little consequence but since this is a discussion board...
To: null and void
You’re correct. I should have pinged him too.

Last time the election was decided before I voted. I wrote in Tancredo.
CA isn’t quite a write-off. I always vote for the most conservative candidate possible.
*sigh* That gives me a near perfect record of never having voted for a successful candidate...
