Wow. This has been a really sad day. I've been having a hard time with this. I have been with YWAM for the last few years, and have taken 4 classes through them (3 in Hawaii and one in Switzerland) and I just recently decided to apply for a staffing position at the YWAM in Baja (Mexico). I'm sad for the victims and it's a bit frightening to me that it appears Christians are targets. But also, reading some comments today on different sites, about the shootings also really brought me down. I know that there are people who hate Christians, but reading their comments so soon after the shootings... it's just surreal, imo.

If I recall correctly from earlier reports on the thread, three teenage girls were shot, and the oldest was in the worst shape. I’m guessing this is the one who just passed.

In the article you linked to is this:
Police in Arvada said the New Life violence was likely related to the shooting early Sunday morning when a man opened fire after he was denied shelter at a dormitory for Christian missionaries in training. [Emphasis mine]
I've started to see this quote now in a number of news reports. Sounds as if the MSM is coalescing around the spin that has been decided to be applied to this particular story. I.e. readers are supposed to think, "Well! What on earth were those hypocritical Christians thinking?!? Sure, the guy massively over-reacted to their denying him shelter on a cold night, but after all, they were partly responsible for bringing this on themselves!"
Those five words - "after he was denied shelter" - are a grossly negative spin of the available facts so far:
- This guy had been hanging around on previous days, during hours when they were open, and had been welcomed along with other droppers-in to visit and talk and eat with them.
- Last night, he came in and asked to use the restroom, and they said yes.
- He hung around for a whole half hour before asking for a place to stay the night.
- The young woman said No, immediately following up with a list of places that would take him in. But the words of follow-up had barely started to come out of her mouth before he pulled out the gun and shot her pointblank.
- THIS IS NOT THE ACTION OF SOMEONE WHO WAS REACTING TO A DENIAL OF SHELTER FOR THE NIGHT!
- Furthermore, the police have been strongly hinting that there is a connection between the two shootings. If so, then it makes this look even more like premeditation and less like a spur of the moment decision to get revenge for inhospitality.
