COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
they’ve changed the count since I last read...earlier, they were saying 5 dead, which included the gunman.

Meanwhile, police were investigating the other shooting about 65 miles away in Colorado Springs. A member of New Life Church was killed, Senior Pastor Brady Boyd said. The gunman in that shooting was shot and killed by a church security worker, Colorado Springs Police Chief Richard Myers said.
Four other people were wounded in the church shooting, authorities said. Arvada Police Chief Bob Wick said Sunday night that there was reason to believe the Arvada and Colorado Springs shootings were linked, though he didn’t elaborate. The mission training program has a small office at the church’s World Prayer Center on the New Life campus.
A gunman in a black trench coat and a high-powered rifle entered the church’s main foyer about 1 p.m. and began shooting, according to a source at the church who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the police department had asked that it release all information.

The FBI and the BATF... Here we go... Combine that with the warning to all faith-based communities from the Arvada policeman and we’ve got a whole bunch of trouble on our hands.
I sure hope we hear the truth of the situation unlike some of the other cases over the last few years... It’s high time we start facing the facts of what is going on if this is indeed related to the WOT in any way, shape, or form (i.e. even if it was “home-grown” sympathizers of some sort)...

All congregation was allowed to leave the building, right? I haven’t read anywhere that the people were evacuated.
Was there a second gunman? If not, what was the FOX news reporting about hearing additional gunshots inside after the first gunman was killed?

I thought they were searching for someone else inside, and hadn’t heard any more about that element of this story. I’m assuming the people went home.
My IMPRESSION was that they had specific and definite inside information that they were not sharing.
But I have not confirmed that.
Thanks for the update, Nic! Now, the picture is coming together. I wish the police would inform the public with all the facts they have, instead of leaving everyone to surmise the situation.

Okay...well, they were likely told by the police, unofficially.
Perhaps there is a writer or someone with the same last name, after all Daniel is a fairly common first name. However, I used to live in Westminster, Colorado which is the next town over from Arvada, and the church I attended at the time was in Arvada... although it wasn’t connected to this group/church. Perhaps it will occur to me later why it sounds so familiar.
I would think so, esp if they thought bombs might be there.
