FRESNO, Calif. (Dec. 8) - The Diocese of San Joaquin voted on Saturday to cut ties with the Episcopal Church, the first time in the church's history a diocese has done so over theological issues and the biggest leap so far by dissident Episcopalians hoping to form a rival national church in the United States.

Fissures have moved through the Episcopal Church, the American arm of the worldwide Anglican Communion, which has 77 million members, and through the Communion itself since the church ordained V. Gene Robinson, a gay man in a long-term relationship, as bishop of New Hampshire in 2003.

The comments alone on the link are fascinating to read. The 'gays' are having a meltdown.

I love this picture from the link:

Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, right, the chief pastor of the Episcopal Church, has warned bishops of "potential consequences," such as court fights over property and other assets.

The picture of Gene Robinson is also pretty good.

Episcopal and Anglican advocates for accepting gay relationships say they are guided by biblical teachings on social justice and tolerance. Traditionalists believe that gay relationships violate Scripture.

I would like to see those verses which teach social justice and tolerance over something God has deemed as sin.

God unequivocally does NOT 'tolerate' sin.

...Jefferts Schori supports ordaining partnered gays and lesbians. (Who btw, is a lesibian herself.)
"We deeply regret their (secededers) unwillingness or inability to live within the historical Anglican understanding of comprehensiveness," she said in a statement after the vote. "We wish them to know of our prayers for them and their journey."

LOL! Hey Bishop, what about the historical principles of biblical precepts? It's all about removing judgement so your sorted idea of 'comprehensiveness' can pervert God's will.

May your attempt fail miserably.

Gotta wonder what religious institution the homosexuals will advance on to destroy next.

Moral outrage should be everywhere when it comes to the homosexual agenda.
How are you going to feel when you find some old queen trying to seduce your young son?

[Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, right, the chief pastor of the Episcopal Church, has warned bishops of “potential consequences,” such as court fights over property and other assets.]

II Timothy,Chapter 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.

Bravo for this Diocese - even though it does seem to be small victory in the context of the wider war.

For once the NYT's gets it right when the Freeper gets it wrong:

NYT: has done so over theological issues

Not Homosexual issues

The next issue for these brave souls to take on is in the courts there will be a fight over the diocese assets.
I’d bet the farm some p.o.s. judge put in by the GODless Clintons rules against the people with morals.

Read in the article that the vote was 173-22. That’s what I call a mandate!

If you study the photograph of Bishopress Schori and her fellow priestess, you will note that their gaily festooned liturgical costumes fail to display a SINGLE christian symbol. Indeed, if the cross suspended over their heads was removed, there would be NOTHING in the shot that suggest either christianity or the Episcopal church which these femclowns and their cohorts have helped to destroy over the last 30 years. Indeed, we see orbs [Gaia? Mother Earth?], wicca-like moon beams and a crozier displaying a possible Orthodox cross. God help us.

The more recent symbology is Illuminist, as are most churches I've seen lately, including Catholic.

Whether you are quoting someone else or inserting this *fact*, it's not so; she is not a lesbian.

What accounts always fail to include on V. Gene Robinson is that he left his family to shack up with a guy.

Oh, and as a "recovering" alcoholic, he's a failure.

There's no way on God's green Earth that anybody with more than half a brain would have put him in a leadership position associated with family and morality.

Something which I should be enormously embarassed about for making an accusation without checking the facts.

I simply saw the pic, and assumed she was a lesbian. How do you know she's not a lesbian, do you know her personally? Do you think it matters to her whether or not people think she may be a lesbian?

In the past individual churches have left and courts have ruled their buildings belong to the diocese. Now, an entire diocese has suceded. It’s going to be a big stretch to say that the buildings belong to the church headquarters in Manhattan or wherever.

But of course Clinton judges will find a way if it is humanly possible.

It they succeed in seceding they will have painted the road map.

So thouse breaking away are the DISSIDENTS. Sounds to me like those staying are the dissidents from Christianity. So goes theological liberalism. A false teaching.
