Take two! Senate intelligence committee chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) had said yesterday that the CIA told him about its destruction of videotaped interrogations in "November 2006." But oops -- in a new statement just released to the press, he says he spoke too soon. It turns out he knew about the tapes' existence in 2003, but only found out about their destruction yesterday. Rocky:
"Last night, the CIA informed me that it believes that the leadership of the Senate Intelligence Committee was told of the decision to destroy the tapes in February 2003 but was not told of their actual destruction until a closed committee hearing held in November 2006. "The committee has located no record of either being informed of the 2003 CIA decision or being notified late last year of the tapes having being destroyed. A review of the November 2006 hearing transcript finds no mention of tapes being destroyed.
"While the existence of the videotapes was known to me in 2003 in my capacity as then-Vice Chairman of the committee, I was not told of the CIAs decision to destroy the tapes and I was not aware of their destruction until yesterdays press reports."

The lazy, lying, jerk just couldn’t think of anything else to throw at the wall and it was his turn to bash the administration. After all, wasn’t it his strategy that got Harry Reid in trouble in the first place?
It makes you seriously question the IQ of citizens who continue to elect these criminals.

the adolescents are at it again.
the democrat party would be better labelled as the party of the psychiatric cases.
Pleading or demonstrating ignorance comes easy for our Congress Critters...
The sad thing is that when George Romney pleaded being “brainwashed” by administration about Viet Nam it destroyed his political career.
Now, all the Congressional critters can cry is we were misled, lied to, etc. I guess saying anything BUT “brainwashed” is OK to claim?
Torture Tapes??? Whose language is that?
bump
They are all liars and frauds. To the point of being treasonous.
I don’t see how all these RATS bragging that they’re too stupid to remember what they’re told helps their Bush-bashing. The lefties at CNN and MSNBC will swallow it (along with anything else the RATS put in their mouths), but most people will realize it just means most RATS don’t know what’s going on around them.
They know that every article ever written about an incident stays available on the Internet. That is why they try to make a lot of false statements for a day or two, get lots of air and paper space and the find that, oops, sorry, that wasn't exactly right.
False stories can even lead the titles on a google search, in fact, the people who run google can design it that way.
