Al parecer hasta el momento se han escrutado el 92% de la actas y el NO aventaja al SI por una mínima diferencia. Según nuestras fuentes los números estarían así:

6.530.000 votos por el NO (52,7%)

5.860.000 por el SI (47,3%)

Además, según Raúl Isaías Baduel el presidente estaría reunido en este momento con el Alto Mando Militar discutiendo la situación.

Extraoficial: Según AFP el NO ganaría con el 57% de los votos.

Según la agencia de noticias francesa AFP el NO ganaría por un margen del 57%, todo esto ante la tardanza del pronunciamiento oficial que estaba pautado para las 10:00pm de esta noche. El panorama durante el transcurso de la noche ha cambiado de dar por ganador al SI por un estrecho margen a favorecer a última hora al NO. El resultado final de este referendum está todavía a la espera de datos oficiales.

Lo cierto es que en las calles del centro de Caracas continúan circulando vehículos celebrando una supuesta victoria del SI, pero fue desmontada la tarima que estaba frente al Palacio de Miraflores para celebrar la victoria del SI.

About $300 million was spent on fancy new voting machines, and maybe they couldn’t be hacked. Hugo may have thought he would win easily, and didn’t need to cheat.

That would explain the comment at the linked website that results had been promised by 7:00 PM (because of the new whizbang voting machines) but at 11:45 PM none had been announced.

The vote must not have gone the way Chavez wanted it, otherwise the results would have been announced immediately.

Al Gore didn't demand a recount. He demanded a tailor made, for him, accounting of the votes. He tried to get the State of Florida to change (break) the rules in the middle of the game. The Supreme Court put the kibosh on that.
