When Barack Obama accused Hillary Clinton of "playing the gender card," the hypocrisy that defines our public discourse on race descended into the surreal. Obama's whole career has been created by and has exploited the perception that he - son of a white mother and an African father, raised in Hawaii, graduate of Columbia and Harvard - is "black," that is, a victim of America's incorrigible racism and oppression. Obama has gotten to where he is by subtly playing the most powerful trump card in the game of social and political power. The rules of this game state that all blacks, no matter how privileged, are victims, all whites are racist oppressors, all black cultural dysfunction is a consequence of white racism, and only whites who loudly and repeatedly proclaim their guilt can redeem themselves by economic and political reparations. The Amarillo Slims of the game are racial hustlers like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Cornel West. But there is a more insidious consequence of this racial narrative - the institutionalizing of black dependence and inferiority. This is seen in the demonization of any black who strays off the liberal plantation. Discrimination is a heinous crime, yet liberals endorse programs like affirmative action that literally dicriminate racially. All the while postmodern minstrels like Cornel West are courted by by Princeton and Harvard. So why marvel that a laughable tyro like Obama, with no experience in the real world of performance and accountability, is taken seriously as a contender for the presidency based solely on the basis of his constructed "blackness"?

"Any African-American who votes Republican is a turncoat".
Je$$e Jackson
Marlon Wayans agrees with Don Imus.
Remember the “Condi and the don’t know nothin’ about no tubes” cartoon?
I looked up and replied: "You don't look a day over 25." He started down the steps towards me, but backed off when several other students came over.
To this day, I am still puzzled by those who want to use race to explain away failure. While I know racism exists, it exists by blacks every bit as much as by whites. Jesse and Al have made a very nice life for themselves by keeping this lack of trust fueled over the years. If people just took responsibility for their own lives, I think much of these and similar problems would disappear. Alas, liberals have too much of a vested interest to ever let that happen.
“raised in Hawaii,”
And Indonesia...
What really pushes by buttons is how the left sold this idea to the public that fascism is a Right Wing ideology. Fascism is a form of socialism that puts the state above the individual, and the state has all the rights, the individual has none. I can tell you how may times I have heard these people say that Communism is far left, and Fascism is far right. The only notable differences are how the fascists allow private ownership of government (though it be completely controlled by government) and the communists will completely own the business. Some writers of definitions will will say another difference is racial preferences are put in place in fascism, making it right wing. A fascist government takes away private gun ownership, private property ownership, rights to due process and fair trials, they take away all your possessions for socialistic distribution of wealth. And because some definitions include racism they call it right ring?!?!? All forms of socialism belong to the left.
Racism belongs to the left. The left but minorities into a "victim" mentality, and promotes government dependence on social programs. Keep tensions between races high, keep them dependant, keep them separated, and you have democrat strategy.
Wow... did I get all preachy or what? Like I said, its a hot spot with me.
I'm glad you put it this way, because, reading the title, I felt compelled to make the distinction between "liberal" and "leftist." I wonder how Hanson would address it.
Either way, I think one can be a decent human being and be liberal in his views. I think anyone who consciously chooses leftist behavior and ideology has left decency and sanity behind.
Furthermore, the lines get blurred because the far right can be weird. My theory is that the left and right circle around and meet on the Dark Side at a place called Fascism.
Wait just a minute. I thought Barak was white. He keeps saying he is 50/50. Why is he black. Was it for political convenience. If things start going badly and he drops in the polls will he decide to be white for the rest of the election. After all he is 50/50.
Whichever way the wind is blowing will be what color Obama will be at that given time.
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.
Sen. Hillary Clinton drew criticism Tuesday for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day speech in which she told a mostly black audience at a Harlem church that Republican leaders have run the House “like a plantation” and the Bush administration will go down as “one of the worst” in U.S. history.

I sure do and I’m still outraged that the MSM gave those cartoons tremnendous publicity while they in typically and cowardly fashion refused to print the (harmless) cartoons of Mohammed published in Denmark - which lead to the death of thousands in various riots throughout the Islamic world.
I remember looking for it on the creator’s website but he had pulled it permanently.
Right! Jesse is a shake-down artist of corporations and the media who is only interested in advancing his personal financial and political agendas. He’s a professional race-monger who has exploited the legacy of Martin Luther King for his own personal ambition. By the way, who’s paying for the “Reverend’s” little bastard? Excuse me, “love child.” And why hasn’t the MSM focused on this as much as it has on the so-called “religious right”? Could it be too embarrassing?
I think it’s partly human nature - we all tend to invent rationalizations for why we abdicate PERSONAL responsibility. I also think that it’s the organized race lobby which would blame all its malfunctions on everything but itself - the environment, dysfunctional families, history, institutional racism, etc.,etc. Those factors are all very real but there reaches a point where they become a crutch and are inconsistent with the realities of 21st century American life. I can tell you about some personal experiences I’ve had as a teacher with affirmative action students - but that’s for another time!
Let me let you in on a little known secret. When those who say that the military was racists against blacks, etc., let me tell you that during the 1970s and 1980s I found by an extreme majority that blacks were more prejudice against whites than I found whites prejudice against blacks in the Army. If you were a white soldier, YOU DID NOT walk around alone on base at night. If you did, you were going to find your ass beaten by a group of black soldiers. However, a single black could walk around and not worry about a group of whites beating him up, because it rarely if ever happened. However, I am aware of many, many more cases of a group of black soldiers beating up a single white soldier they caught out after dark walking around. I also had more encounters with black soldiers over the years, each and every time, accusing me as a white of being prejudice against them. No matter the issue, if it were a black soldier involved, the race card was coming out to defend the black. Every time. It got better as the years went along. But the 70s and 80s were bad. Really bad.
My theory is that the left and right circle around and meet on the Dark Side at a place called Fascism.
Don’t necessarily agree with that one. I consider Fascism to be just another flavor of Left. The Fascist as being the “right wingers” was an invention of Josef Stalin’s propaganda machine, and yes Hitler was just to the right of Stalin. Keep in mind that the Stalinists are alive and well on college campuses, lamestream media, and at least one presidential candidate.
Yes, and as Hillary rightly pointed out, (much as I hate to admit she’s right) being in Indonesia at the age of ten, hardly constitutes being an expert in foreign affairs. But remember, his name is Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Maybe he discovered in his youth some ‘balanced’ and sophisticated reasons to hate America. Why not have a black Islamist-sympathizer as president? We can’t be prejudiced!
