Muslims discover Ron Paul (Anti-Zionists encouraged to register republican and send Paul money)
WordPress.com ^ | November 18, 2007 | mariahussain

Posted on 11/19/2007 6:00:13 AM PST by tlb

After the Republican debate on Tuesday evening in Dearborn, Mich., a reporter from the Arab-American News asked Ron Paul what he thought of the term “Islamic fascism.”

“It’s a false term to make people think we’re fighting Hitler,” Paul responded. “It’s war propaganda designed to generate fear so that the war has to be spread.”

The call has gone out to all the Muslim Americans to hurry up and register to vote Republican so that they can vote in the Republican Primary to support Ron Paul, the anti-interventionist, non-isolationist candidate for President of the United States. Muslims are opening their wallets and joining teaparty07.com as well.

An anonymous Ron Paul supporter posted the following message on the internet: “Muslims and Americans have an unique window of opportunity for the 2008 election. There is a candidate running as a Republican that would work to completely cut off the funding to Israel, remove ALL US troops from Arab lands, and repeal the Patriot Act. He’s a Republican with Libertarian views named Ron Paul. Ron Paul’s policies ranging from monetary to foreign are top notch. Till now Muslims and Americans have not had an American Presidential candidate that really suited their best interests. This election is unique in that we have a man running as a Republican that speaks the truth…We know the current policies in the Middle East are failing, not only making it less safe in the world but hurting and killing innocent Muslims, which our media callously calls collateral damage. It is our duty as Muslims to follow the truth regardless of how futile it may seem. Ron Paul is the only candidate that does not seem to be swayed by the influential lobbies that the other candidates are catering to.”

Ron Paul stood up in Congress in 2006 and opposed a resolution that sided with Israel in the Lebanon-Israel conflict. He stated the following.

Ron Paul: “Mr. Speaker, I follow a policy in foreign affairs called non-interventionism. I do not believe we are making the United States more secure when we involve ourselves in conflicts overseas. The Constitution really doesn’t authorize us to be the policemen of the world, much less to favor one side over another in foreign conflicts. It is very clear, reading this resolution objectively, that all the terrorists are on one side and all the victims and the innocents are on the other side. I find this unfair, particularly considering the significantly higher number of civilian casualties among Lebanese civilians. I would rather advocate neutrality rather than picking sides, which is what this resolution does.”

Ron Paul has also sponsored a bill to overturn the Patriot Act. He is one of the few members of Congress from either of the major houses that is speaking rationally about these issues. How can we get everyone, and I mean everyone, to join the Ron Paul Republican voter sign-up campaign?

There is general frustration with politicians these days, and the unwillingness to believe that supporting a particular candidate will make a difference. But whether Ron Paul wins or loses, ronpaul.meetup.com is a great way to meet your neighbors who are against the war and organize the community on a grassroots level. If something like Katrina ever happened to us, knowing our neighbors could mean the difference between life and death to our families.

The common thread I’ve been reading lately about leftists and Jews is that they are having trouble getting more than a dozen people to come to their stuff (whether anti-Zionist or Zionist). The anti-Israel movement is not moving forward, because “protest Zionist imperialism” is just not a catchy slogan. By contrast, there are over 400 RP activists against war taxes in Boston alone. Every day the list of passionate anti-war activists grows. Very few of them agree with every single RP position, they just want to get the Lobby out of the way and pull the troops out of Iraq.

One reason it’s working is because of the software. They made the ronpaul.meetup.com site almost like a dating site, where you can make friends with people in or near your zip code. They made it very easy to get together with new people to join the activism. You can’t beat technology, may as well use it.

In the event that RP actually won the election and got the Hamas treatment, his supporters are fully in support of the Right to Bear Arms. It would be interesting to see what followed.

If anti-war protesters want to continue to focus on the genocidal machinations of the global zionist-imperialist military, industrial, financial, political, neoliberal, media complex, they have to be willing to meet with anyone any time to hear what ideas people have to address this, which is our primary responsibility - even if they are Republicans.

If you ever saw Ron Paul in an interview it cannot be said that he avoids discussing vital issues. He is someone who is willing to make a statement and stick by it even when no one agrees with him. I don’t “believe” in electoral politics but it’s not that much sweat off my brow to go and vote to end war.

I think the fact that NO pro-Israel group will let Ron Paul speak at their convention, not even peace Zionists, is evidence enough that he is the only person to put in charge as commander-in-chief. And, even if he loses, making all these contacts with local anti-interventionists is priceless. If you want to expand the peace movement so that it overlaps with the freedom movement like ripples in a pond, you just have to respect the fact that people might agree with you, but for different reasons.

That is one of my all time favorite movies.

I like the part where the mom wakes up finding them looking for a shovel and wind up critiquing a painting while eating a late night dinner while some guys is in the trunk.

OF COURSE. Are you really that ignorant or just being silly?

Just trying to needle the obvious out of peoples' heads. I am trying to call out some folks' conscious ignorance or blindness on the aid the current Pubbie establishment gives to Muslim states.

Among his supporters David Duke, a well known white supremecist. Do you, KDD, condemn Dukes ideology? Do you acknowledge it's inappropriate to inject this ideology into the American political climate, thus normalizing it?

You yourself have done more to interject fringe group ideology in Republican politics with your obsessive posting of these fringe websites and with your baseless accusations trying to link Ron Paul to them. Polite society usually ignores such as Black, Duke and Carto until some zealot forces them into the political equation...usually as an attempt to smear someone with the guilt by association ploy.

"What kind of country backs up another country by pushing them to release prisoners who are a threat to their national security?"

I often wonder the same.

I would sure vote for Rudy before this nutjob. At least Rudy is on the right side of the war as opposed to this clown. Why do you suppose the Mooselimbs love him?? You even have a No Blood for Oil guy on here, so your in great company.

How a Fred supporter could defend this Kook is unimaginable. Let’s just say it doesn’t pass the laugh test. Oh, I’m undecided except for Kook Paul so I guess I can talk.

Good morning.
“It is simple. We keep em out of here and send back any who are not citizens”

It’s not simple and Ron Paul wants us to retreat and leave the head choppers to do as they will. What policies has he put forth to deal with our enemies? The Islamists don’t want to talk to us. They want us Muslim or dead and they don’t care whch. That’s the number one reason to avoid him like the plague.

As for storming the beach at Malibu, why bother. The invaders are already there in huge numbers. How does he plan on remedying that? How does he recommend rounding up the illegals in LA, or in Dearborn or Atlanta, and how does he plan on sending them back? It doesn’t matter that W has failed to do it, how is Ron Paul going to do it?

I guess you don't give a crap about abortion or the 2nd Amendment.

How a Fred supporter could defend this Kook is unimaginable.

As a small-l libertarian, I'm attracted to Thompson's emphasis on federalism. I also disagree with Paul on the war, which is why he's not my candidate. I will, however, defend Paul on the issues he is right on, and there are a hell of a lot of them.

Oh, I’m undecided except for Kook Paul so I guess I can talk.

I'm quickly realizing that being "undecided" this late in the game is the FR politically-correct way of saying that one is a Giulianite. And there seems to be a lot of "undecideds" amongst the Paul haters.

bray, enjoy the dance that jmc813 will perform for you.

One form of Ron Paulism, is the Ron Paulvestite, i.e., a Paulistinian who pretends to support someone else while performing obvious service to the Ron Paul icon.

There is no clear connection between Thompson and Paul, so trying to make a connection between the two often leaves one with the conclusion that it is total BS.

SANE AND SENSIBLE IMMIGRATION POLICIES AFTER SEPTEMBER 11

The terrible events of September 11th brought the issue of immigration reform squarely into the public spotlight. Most of the terrorist hijackers involved in the attacks were in the country illegally, having gained entrance using student visas that had later expired. The INS now admits that potentially tens of millions of aliens in the country are unaccounted for, many having simply disappeared after passing through customs. This in turn leads to fears that numerous terrorist cells may be operating within the U.S. and plotting future acts of terror. No amount of military might used abroad does us much good if the American people are not safe in their own communities.

Immigration policy must now be considered a matter of national security. America has the same sovereign right to defend itself against enemies when the enemy attacks us from within. Common sense tells us that we currently should not be admitting aliens from nations that sponsor or harbor terrorists, or from nations with whom we are at war. There were many fine German-Americans in the U.S. during World War II, but we certainly did not allow open immigration from Germany until hostilities had ceased and loyalties could be determined. While we generally should welcome people from around the world whenever possible, we cannot allow potential enemies or terrorists to enter the country now under any circumstances. Legislation I introduced in the fall would restrict immigration, including the granting of heavily abused student visas, by individuals from nations listed as terrorist threats by the State department.

We also must do a better job keeping track of the noncitizens who already have been admitted to America. Individuals who remain in the country after their visas have expired must be treated as lawbreakers. Remember, only U.S. citizens have the constitutional right to be on American soil; non-citizens are in the country at the discretion of the State department. We should not tolerate lawless behavior or anti-American activities from guests in our country.

It is far better to focus our efforts on immigration reform and ridding our country of suspected terrorists than to restrict the constitutional liberties of our own citizens. The fight against terrorism should be fought largely at our borders. Once potential terrorists are in the country, the task of finding and arresting them becomes much harder, and the calls for intrusive government monitoring of all of us become louder. If we do not want to move in the direction of a police state at home, we must prevent terrorists from entering the country in the first place.

Finally, meaningful immigration reform can only take place when we end the welfare state. No one has a right to immigrate to America and receive benefits paid for by taxpayers. When we eliminate welfare incentives, we insure that only those who truly seek America’s freedoms and opportunities will want to come here.

I can understand you not wanting to lose a son to protect this, that’s normal. But who is supposed to do this? Someone else’s son?

You are damned lucky you live in a country where you can be a presidential advisor/armchair military expert, while SOMEONE ELSE’S son or daughter face danger everyday so you can enjoy freedom of speech, an uninterrupted comfortable lifestyle made much better because of oil products.

You remind me of a relative of mine. He is a big brusing weight lifter yuppie, who spouts off about this “illegal” war, and how he wouldn’t allow his son to fight it.

He is one of those typical people who, if a terrorist attacked and it impacted his family, would be whining the loudest about how “The govt., Bush, should have protected me.”

So, if we are mean for protecting our interests, and oil, what is your SOLUTION for fixing this problem, besides blind support for Ron Paul? What’s RP’s solution, besides pulling out or troops in Iraq so terrorists can turn into a lucrative terrorist training camp?

One form of Ron Paulism, is the Ron Paulvestite, i.e., a Paulistinian who pretends to support someone else while performing obvious service to the Ron Paul icon.

Bro, at least I have a candidate. You're either too intellectually lazy to or are embarrassed at who you're supporting.

There is no clear connection between Thompson and Paul

You're going to tell me with a straight face that Thompson's emphasis on federalism is not attractive to libertarians like me?

Tell you what, I'm going to post the text of an e-mail that I received an hour ago as a financial supporter of Thompson. As far as I can tell, this message does not appear anywhere on the web. PM or Jellybean or anyone else who may have received this, could you vouch that this email went out today?

My friend, I have been campaigning all across America and talking about the issues that you and I both care about. I have been very encouraged by the response that I have gotten out on the campaign trail and it is clear that my positive conservative message is resonating with voters. To build even more momentum though, I'm going to need the resources to further get my message out. My ads "Consistent Conservative" and "No Amnesty" are already on the air. I need your help to keep them there. With only 45 days until caucusing in Iowa begins, we have to continue our media blitz to get my consistent conservative message out to voters in the early primary states. You can pay for a 30-second ad for my campaign in Sioux City, Iowa simply by contributing $70 to my campaign, and $250 will buy an ad in Greenville, South Carolina. If you and your friends and family can combine to give $850 to my campaign, I can buy a prime-time advertisement in Charleston, South Carolina. These ads will make the difference in this race. I believe that my focus on securing our borders, strengthening our military and preserving traditional American values can carry me to the Republican nomination and on to victory against the Democrats, but only if the American people hear my message. You've stuck with me this far and I need you one more time. I hope I can count on you to help me spread the word. Contribute $25 or $50 today, or make the plunge of $70, $250 or $850 to cover an entire 30 second ad in an important media market. We can win this nomination; I need your help. Thank you. I appreciate all you have done and continue to do on my behalf. I need your support today. Best wishes,

Why bother showing up at a Ron Paul event. His wacko supporters show up uninvited at everyone elses events just to show us how nutty he & they are anyway.

Many of Paul supporters are just ordinary Americans sick of the status-quo. Maybe these people aren't as refined politically as you and me are, but that's no excuse to mock them or smear them as a bunch of kooks.

Like I've stated, the Paul threads have really unveiled the mask of FReepers who call themselves Christians concerned about their fellow man. Hypocrites, all of you guys.

Worth noting for anyone reading this, I wasn't posting on the thread, and have asked you in the past not to ping me to unrelated threads.

I think the single largest bloc of Arab Americans are Lebanese, certainly they are the best established and influential. The majority are from the Levant (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine).

Arab Christians are somewhere between 63%-80% supposedly, another 25% have no religion, the rest are Muslim or belong to another religion. The Muslims had very small numbers until the last ten years. Apparently, the BushClinton administrations like to import large numbers of Muslims so we can enjoy them the way the Brits and the French have. First-gen is okay from what I read but the second generation of Muslims are the troublemakers and radicals.

Just hold onto your cliches about Kook and ignore the obvious.
