LAS VEGAS, NV (TDR) - The ratings for coverage of O.J. Simpson's armed robbery trial are 'abysmal' according to trial broadcast experts. Producers had hoped that the Simpson name alone would bolster numbers during the November sweeps, but now speculate the public may think that armed robbery is somewhat unspectacular. Still, broadcasters and print media alike remain hopeful a more sensational crime will emerge before the end of the month...

Good. This is even less a national news story than the random murders that should remain local news.
Every time this comes on the news, I change the channel. Fox, CNN, MSNBC are all covering it like the second coming, but it has no relevance to anything. It does not affect the course of or well being of the Republic one iota. It is a simple crime. The guy is a scumbag. His friends and associates are scumbags {whatever the collective noun for scumbags might be}. This is not news. All this coverage is a complete waste of time, and worse, it is a BORE.
No body died and of course the fact that he has not caught the real killers has lowered his TV interest.
I predict the ratings will hit the peak, once O.J. is CONVICTED and SENTENCED to LIFE IN PRISON with Bubba the 400 pound criminally insane sodomite gang raping murderer...

I agree, OJ and his ilk are dirtbags. Not worth the ink. Let it go.
I believe this article is a parody. But it would not surprise me if ratings really are down. Nowadays OJ has to compete with Briney, Lindsay Lohan, even the dead Anna Nicole! I suppose media people who stand to make a buck off this kind of story would really be sorry this wasn’t like the 1994-95 nonsense that went on with Simpson.
