Well, as a matter of fact, yes. I used to do VIP demos the last few years I was in. I remember one AUSA convention in DC; we were showing off the Ground Based Common Sensor and had her camouflaged to beat the band.

And there was this very attractive young lady who came up to see the display - wearing heels - who tripped and almost fell over. As it was, she fell into my arms. It was like magic. We met afterwards for dinner, strolled along the National Mall in the moonlight, and the rest, as they say,

Now Jinx,..... I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

Greetings all, time for the Friday Flyby. As your humble poster was busy this AM thinning out the honey-do list,{Yea Right:-)}and taking a nap since it's my weekend on nights:-( Y'all will have to settle for a repost of last years pics. But as a happy coincidence November 10th just happens to be the birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps and I just happen to have some USMC pics still on the server so away we go and on with the pics!!!

First up the WW-II and later avaition version of a toddler. In Marine colors of course.

Nothing says Marine Air in WW-II like the F4U Corsair, eh?

Just to late to see action in WW-II the Grumman F7F Tigercat did see some service in Korea.

Fronm the "Golden Age" of jets a Douglas F4D Skyray glides through the air in this painting. I always thought that the Skyray was a "cool" aircraft as a kid.

Next up the Chance Vought F8 Crusader. From wikipedia...On July 16, 1957, Glenn completed the first supersonic transcontinental flight in a Vought F8U Crusader. The California to New York flight took 3 hours, 23 minutes and 8 seconds. As Glenn passed over his hometown, a child in the neighborhood reportedly ran to the Glenn house shouting "Johnny dropped a bomb! Johnny dropped a bomb! Johnny dropped a bomb!" as the sonic boom shook the town.

And to close out tonites Flyby the Phablous Phantom II

Well that's it for tonite folks, have a great weekend and if I can get my act together I will have a new Sortie tomorrow night. Y'all take care out there and have a great weekend.

Regards

"Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat."

Won’t be long before the little one isn’t so little. Maybe she “got” the bottle.
