I didn't immediately realize, as I made my way through the enrollment lines at college, how much it was going to cost me to live in Pasadena. My college had no dormitories so all students had to find off campus housing and transportation to get to get to school. Tuition averaged $11,000.00 per semester and the school ran 3 continuous semesters per year.
In a sincere effort to fund my education, I turned to my college financial aid office, where advisors never even suggested federal funding or grants etc. . They simply directed me to private loan companies, who were more than wiling to lend me twenty thousand dollars when I needed it; which was each semester. It was a smooth process.
you know,
If I could give up everything I own to get rid of my debt — I would.
It’s not like im sitting here doing nothing. I work 9-5 just like everyone else.
I would rather have, knee, back and butt surgery over heart surgery any day -— wouldn’t you?
joe
Dunno. The back surgery was pretty rough. I am glad to hear that u do work, at least.
I would guess that it is your attitutde that the gov’t MUST do something. Get the nanny state out of it. I say let the market decide what the cost of college will be. Get rid of welfare grants like the pell grants. Those come right outta my pocket. Private scholarships ok. You thought you would be making big $. If you do have the talent, you still will. (I’d drop your asking price down from the $50/hour, though)
“May I summon the kitties?”
heck, any one can do that. Is it the right thing to do here? I vote yes, meself. I just dislike beggars and this guy is one.

Whoops stuttered. LOL
You aren’t getting much sympathy over at LibertyPost, either, I note. I find it interesting you found out about your story being posted here and there.
Shows you are no newbie to this.
Stretchedmind over at LP in #34 gave you an excellent reply.

Gee. Maybe I ought to set up a website and tell my tale of woe to see how many stupid people will pay me for being on the public dole? Yah. Right. It’s their fault I’m here, according to “Joe,”
I am only trying to spread awareness on the predatory practices of student loan corporations.
In 1997, under intense lobbying from student loan companies, The Higher Education Act (HEA) was amended, and defaulted student loans became among the most lucrative, and easiest to collect type of debt. These amendments allow for huge penalties and fees to be attached to defaulted student loan debt, take away bankruptcy protection for student borrowers, dissallow refinancing of the debt, and also provide for draconian collection and punitive measures to be taken against student borrowers, including wage garnishment, tax garnishment, withholding of professional certifications, termination from employment , social security garnishment, and others. According to Harvard Professor Elizabeth Warren in a Wall Street Journal piece by John Hechinger , “Student-loan debt collectors have power that would make a mobster envious.”
Finally we're getting at the boilerplate that you're trying to sell with this concocted story of woe. Nutroots "viral awareness building" in favor of full out handouts for college "educations."
"...draconian collection and punitive measures to be taken against student borrowers, including wage garnishment, tax garnishment, withholding of professional certifications, termination from employment, social security garnishment, and others."
Seriously? My employer will fire me if I don't keep up with my student loan payments? And what the heck is a tax garnishment? Isn't taxation already garnishment?
Ahhhhhhh, my eyes! LOL

This guy is testing the perimeter and I predict he will launch a full-scale, panties-in-a-bunch, code-pinko, defacto-opus waaaahhh attack soon. I say we raise to threat level DEFCON 3.
Please add me to your viking kitty/zot pinglist. Most fun on the net!
