Surrounded by RINOs: RINOs to the Left of me and RINOs to the Right of me
FreeRepublic and others (links provided) | 11.07.07 | FreeRepublic and others

RINOs have infested the GOP, and for that matter FreeRepublic. I am sure that there is a certain level of RINO infestation that can be lived with, but our “Institutions” are being over-run by these vermin.

The polls that show up on the bottom of the FreeRepublic page consistently show too much support for RINOs, and this is just unacceptable. I mean – how can it be that RINOs like McCain, Romney, Ron Paul and Giuliani (among others) get so much Freeper support. I am not sure what we can, or should, do to eliminate this problem, but there has to be some sort of ultimate solution.

It seems like a consensus has emerged here that many here seem to agree with, and it goes something like: "There is no difference between [insert liberal Democrat Name here] and [insert RINO Name here], so it will do the GOP and “Conservatism” a great service to NOT support the RINO and let the LIBERALs have the election. I mean, there’s no difference between them, and it will help the conservative movement, by showing how Liberalism and RINOism will destroy America."

Maybe for a start…..I might suggest that there be a grand list of RINOs that deserve NO support – and that those on the list be “PURGED” in one fashion or another. I am trying to provide links to support my charges of RINO status.

Pat Robinson ...... McCain ....... Romney

Ron Paul...... Senator Coleman (MN)...... Senator Kit Bond (MO)

Giuliani ....... Mike Huckabee ..... Sen. George V. Voinovich

Sen. Collins ...... Senator Snowe ...... Sen. Hagel

Sen. John W. Warner ...... Senator Hatch (UT)..... Senator Lott (MS)

Senator Specter (PA) ..... Arnold Schwarzenegger ..... Senator Graham (SC)

Senator Lugar (IN) ...... Senator Kyl (AZ) ..... Senator Martinez (FL) ......

Fred Thompson

I am sure I could make this list hugely BIG – like probably 10X this big ..... but I think I should let other FRepers join in so we can purge those RINO’s for good!

Give me anyone but Rudy, Ron, or the Huckster.
I can throw support, to varying degrees, behind any of the others.

Rudy, Ron, or the Huckster and I'm outta there.

Wow, what a great Stalinist you are! Let’s purge everyone from the party who doesn’t “think” exactly like you, even people who are otherwise strong conservatives. Then we can be just like the Democrats who march in lock-step to the zombie drum beat of think-alike, speak-alike sameness. What a really shameful, embarrassing post. So much for Reagan’s big tent GOP, right? Or was he a RINO too, once having been pro-choice on abortion, pro-labor union?

You need to acknowledge that we can only purge those for whom we can vote or oppose. I am happy with the conservatism of those who represent me here in Texas - Sen. Hutchison, Sen. Cronyn, and Rep. Sam Johnson.

I can't do a thing about those others you mention nor can you affect mine unless you live nearby.

Good luck on getting Fred Thompson named as an official RINO on this website, you’re going to need it.

Thanks for continuing to dumb down the definition of RINO.
Won’t you join me in supporting Ludwig von Mises for President?

Who cares!?

I’m probably more to the right than Duncan or Fred...doesn’t mean I’m going to be president.

“I agree with everything you said, except Hunter as Vice President. I’d rather see him as Secretary of Defense with the power to really take the fight to our enemies, rather than sitting in a useless job. Let him be Veep during the second Thompson term, by that point, we may well have vanquished our enemies, and Thompson’s age/health will be an issue.

So, who do we get to be Vice President during Thompson’s first term? Dick Cheney, of course! It will make moonbat heads explode! :)”

Yes, that would be awesome...but I’ll pass on the latter. I’m sort of waiting for the next admin.

LOL!

You can’t get anymore conservative than that!

I think it would be helpful for you to give the rest of us your definitions as to what you believe a “real” Conservative is and what a “RINO” is. In terms of policies supported, stated moral beliefs and actions (past and present), what specifically do you look for when you determine the Conservative/RINO status of a given candidate?

Disagree with your assessment of Fred.

Your comment on Lugar, I agree, but I don’t know of anyone who supports him anymore. Maybe the first time he ran for office, but not now. The Indiana Republican party is not strong on supporting him either. They shower him with very faint praise.

Hunter has problems as a big spender, he doesn’t know how to get limited government done. Fred is better on limited government than Hunter is. Therefore more conservative.

If all this post is based upon your judgment calls, it is not worth the bandwidth.

You know, I’ve been here on FR for a lot of years, read here long before I ever registered.

But, I have to say something. I don’t mind arguing with the Left, or RINOs, or the pretend-to-Bes...

Why would you want to Purge people? I mean, while I do understand the terms of service here (have similar ones on sites I help run) I can definitely understand banning someone who is trolling.

But purging others for their own, particular point of view that doesn’t match someone else’s point of view is ridiculous.

If people get banned, it ought to be the ones who troll consistently. After five or six idiotic posts, nuke ‘em.

But, I don’t get “purging” folks cuz they don’t happen to agree with you. Do you not like like to debate people who simply can’t argue without calling you names? :)

The post you provided for Fred was a link to an article that was posted ad naseum yesterday by several anti-Fred folks, and locked over and over.

Because someone says he doesn’t think he will be elected, doesn’t make him a RINO. It makes him lack confidence perhaps, something he’ll get over soon enough. lol
