I have a great deal of respect for president Bush. Our entire family voted for him twice, but he has let his critics on the left walk all over him and NOT taken a stand against them. Jesus said we were to "turn the other cheek", but that does not mean we are to become a door mat for our enemies to step all over. He should have continually taken a stand on the TRUTH and not let them get away with their lies, distortions and attacks. Instead, he wanted to "play nice" with people who continually stab him and the American people in the back EVERY chance they get.
. Is Rudy everything I want in a candidate? No but he will also NOT put up with Hillery trying to "Lazio" him by hiding behind "No fair, I am a girl!" Come the election campaign/debates, he will beat her like a rented mule. He cleaned up NY, ran that city very well, lowered taxes AND the crime rate and a whole lot of people didn't like him for it because he was tough. But that didn't bother him because he kept his eye on the ball. One more thing, in spite of his faults, Americans like him and have a lot of respect for him. He will garner a lot of independents.
He has stated that he will appoint strict constitutionalists to the SC. I for one take him at his word.
Personally as an evangelical, I like Fred, BUT Fred Thompson doesn't have the fire in his belly, does not seem to "want it" and is not willing to FIGHT for the position as much as Rudy. Sadly, he and his campaign reminds me of Senator Bob Dole... I refuse to let that happen again.
As for Mit, I live in NH and have seen first hand how he governs... no thanks. Besides, I can't vote for a guy who actually believes he is going to become the god of his own world by sexually propagating it with multitudes of spirit children his wife is going to be churning out like the queen from Aliens.
I know near zero about Mormonism but it is better that this gets aired now than during the general election. Got a few source links to back you up?
Wideawake talking point #1. Was the kool aid good?
Is Rudy everything I want in a candidate?Even Fred Thompson, my choice for the nomination, is not "everything I want in a candidate", but he's certainly the best of the field, in my opinion.
Having said that, if it came down to it in the general election, I would vote for Rudy over Hillary. I would walk ten miles barefoot in the snow to vote for Rudy over Hillary (though I'd be shaking my head with regret that Fred didn't make it to the general).
How, exactly, did that "speak volumes"? This seems to be one of the current RudyBot talking points, so I'd like a thorough explanation.
My personal view is this: By the time that payment was offered, we'd already discovered that some of the hijackers were Saudi nationals and that most of the visas were issued in Saudi Arabia. Accepting any payment from a nation that was responsible, however peripherally, for the attacks would've been a political blunder of historic proportions.
So yes, it came to pass that Rudy was smart enough to avoid making an obvious (and very public) mistake. I find it amazing that such a thing is now being touted as evidence that the man is fit for the highest office in the land. Talk about low expectations.
As far as I know, we haven't declared war against Rudi-the-baby-killer.
Rudy = Hillary.
He gave her the senate seat; if elected he’ll show us how conservative she is, but I’m sure that he’ll just pull a Bob Dole.
And just how did you come to know what is in Fred's belly? Can't the anti-FRed people think of anything else to say? lol
