Pat Robertson, one of the nation's most influential Christian leaders, plans to endorse former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani today, the Politico has learned.
Giuliani has struggled to win support of social conservatives because of his moderate views on abortion and gay rights. But now he has one of the most resonant imprimaturs with Christian voters.
Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), meanwhile, plans to announce his surprise endorsement of former Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president on Wednesday, a campaign official told Politico.
The endorsement is to be announced in Dubuque, Iowa.
The alliance gives McCain — once a front-runner, now struggling — a crucial bridge to social conservatives, an important constituency that has remained suspicious of him despite his opposition to abortion.

I seem to remember this Robertson being an apologist for Chinese abortion policy a few years back. He must have ties to China somehow and I could even see him instructing his flock to vote Democrat if a good conservative gets the nomination.
All Rudy needs now is Jorge’s endorsement, that should seal up the nomination, after all Republicans are no more than a bunch of Christian Right Wing Conservative lemmings. If you get “the” leader and leading boogeyman of the Christian right’s endorsement, as well as the titular and “conservative” leader in Jorge’s endorsement, then the entire party will fall in line. Of course I can only speak for this conservative, and endorsements of Sean Hannity, Roger Ailes, Pat Robertson, and Jorge Bush mean diddly squat to me.

Is Rudy everything I want in a candidate?Even Fred Thompson, my choice for the nomination, is not "everything I want in a candidate", but he's certainly the best of the field, in my opinion.
Having said that, if it came down to it in the general election, I would vote for Rudy over Hillary. I would walk ten miles barefoot in the snow to vote for Rudy over Hillary (though I'd be shaking my head with regret that Fred didn't make it to the general).

he dropped from the Senate Race because he saw that a Hillary win was inevitable... He also knew that with an eye on POTUS in 2008 and w/ Hil as the likely opponent a loss to her in Senate Race would not be looked upon well ...

I agree, after all this is “Hurricane Pat” Robertson, who seems to have an affinity for those spinning storms ( A couple of examples):

Never really cared what Pat thought; and now that I hear him speak of endorsements, I think I was right for not listening.
