Democratic challenger Steve Beshear has been elected as Kentucky's new governor.
We’re holding our other 2 offices (Sec of State — in charge of elections & Ag Comm), for what it’s worth. Unfortunately, we’re not getting any of the open offices, especially AG, which we haven’t held in decades.
could be worse. you could have our governor spitzer who is the laughingstock of the entire country for his illegal licenses plan
Would be nice, but unlikely. The rodents f*cked Fletcher from day #1.
Polls show that McConnell is in trouble in KY but I do not think he will lose during a Presidential year.
However, if the GOP Nominee cannot win KY it is going to be a rough night for the Republicans next year.
I seriously doubt that Mississippians will turn Gov. Barbour out of office. He, unlike Meemaw in La., reponded very well to the Katrina disaster. Both before and after the the storm’s landfall.
“However, if the GOP Nominee cannot win KY it is going to be a rough night for the Republicans next year.”
Maybe time for a 50 state strategy?
Cuz the formula which (just barely) worked in 2000 and 2004 looks real shakey right now.
Candidate Party Votes Overall %
Beshear & Mongiardo D 2,287 55.5% 55.5%
Fletcher & Rudolph R 1,834 44.5% 44.5%
Coming in? Well over a third of the state still has the polls open.
Sorry.....this is for my 4th Congressional District only. Not statewide.
This contest was nothing but a referendum on Fletcher. He tried to take on the deeply ingrained rodent corruption in Frankfort and he got screwed for doing so. Beshear is a return to the same-old, same old rodent corruption. The new Lt Governor is a slimeball, too. No doubt the new rodent AG will protect Beshear. Only Trey Grayson and Richie Farmer to look out for our interests. Grayson’s reelection was very important as Sec of State.
Beshear & Mongiardo D 247,444 60.8%
Fletcher & Rudolph R 159,349 39.2%

Indeed. I don't get why all these "conservative" southern states seem to have love affairs with endless RAT rule of their states. After 40 years of one-party liberalism you'd think they'd get the hint and opt not to return to those days. Seems like Fleticher was just a fluke and the RAT control of the state will continue for a while
The last of the polls closed at 6:00 PM CT.
There has been a barage of unanswered ads running against him from MoveOn.org as of late.
Do you have any of the results in the other races?
Beshear & Mongiardo D 277,752 59.8%
Fletcher & Rudolph R 186,740 40.2%
45.2% in at 7:50
The peoples’ republic of Louisville went blue last year. Lexington has always been blue.
They also are pushing the “It’s-for-the-children” library tax on businesses, this time.
60-40 for the dem is a huge landslide.
I’m over in southern IN - Louisville media - and yep - back to the Dems in KY - I’m afraid.
