I am certain the civil rights and free speech advocates will denounce this...in my own fantasy land.

If they can ban FoxNews, then they need to ban CNN, MSNBC, and all the rest of the news channels because of their Left leaning reporting.

They hate FOX NEWS CHANNEL even though its not really a conservative network. The Democrats hate FNC because it reports both sides of the story. They find that formula intolerable.

It is true, once there is one news source which sticks to the truth, the Democrats go beserk. They need to understand, their media parrot is dead and buried.
Democrats see logic as their enemy, and the truth as their terrorist.

The Democrats don’t want to poison the mind of welfare recipients by allowing them to watch any Conservative TV stations. It mind get them thinking about getting off the dole, stop having kids at age 16, and get and education and make it without government assistance.
Heck, they wouldn’t need the Democratic party anymore, if all that happened.

“The affected bill, a 3.5 billion dollar spending measure that proponents say is necessary to educate potential voters before the 2008 elections, has met with great resistance from conservative legislators on both sides of the aisle who portray it as just one more unnecessary entitlement tacked onto an already over-burdoned welfare system.”
Just so I have this straight....they want to spend 3.5 BILLION dollars to give cable tv to poor people? Have they lost their flipping minds? This is insane.

The bill is to educate voters about the 2008 elections, but then they try to exclude the #1 rated cable news network? Don’t Dems see how stupid this makes them look?

In other words Billingsley thinks everyone should have information as long as that information is approved by him. Billingsley reveals himself to be a communist propagandist and an enemy of free speech and the US constitution. He should be tried for treason and deported.

The affected bill, a 3.5 billion dollar spending measure that proponents say is necessary to educate potential voters before the 2008 elections, has met with great resistance from conservative legislators on both sides of the aisle who portray it as just one more unnecessary entitlement tacked onto an already over-burdoned welfare system. So the Dem's don't think a channel that has sponsored presidential candidate debates is part of the education of voters. Outrageous!
More to the point, I have always thought allowing folks to vote in any language but English allows those with limit information to vote. If I only speak Spanish doesn't matter how many cable channels you make available to me, I still can't be as educated as the English speaker.
