She's a cutie, but you gotta love the hair-brained animal activist quotes: "Breaking down in tears, she added: "One little baby dolphin stuck his head out and kinda looked at me and the thought that it's no longer with us is really hard to take."

"Breaking down in tears, she added: "One little baby dolphin stuck his head out and kinda looked at me and the thought that it's no longer with us is really hard to take." ... and yet, five'll get you ten that she reflexively refers to any unborn child as a "fetus."

I applaud her guts and determination. At least she walks the walk.

I quote Lee Marvin from the movie The Big Red One;” Son you don’t murder animals, you kill them”

Agreed. Animals are my most liberal cause. In that situation, I would do the same thing.

She’s probably pissed at the New England Patriots too, for what they did to the Dolphins of Miami. (Somehow I can imagine a couple of morning dj’s having a go at her along that line.)

With ya. I think animal welfare is a conservative issue. To me, being pro life doesn’t stop at only one of God’s creatures. Of course some uses of animals are reasonable and necessary, but the wanton unnecessary inhumane slaughter to the point of extinction is not in line with relilgious nor conservative views IMHO.

Many Japanese believe dolphins should be treated like fish. They have been hunting dolphins for centuries and see any criticism of this as an attack on their culture. This reminds me of the hullabaloo with the Native Americans (Amerindians? Indigenous peoples? What the heck am I supposed to call them?!?) in the Pacific Northwest some years back. They wanted to hunt whales, because of culture, and the animal rights activists wanted them to stop. I'm always slightly amused by the battle between "culture preservation" and "animal preservation."

Ditto,
Count me in the “she’s my hero” crowd.
Since when did being conservative mean hating nature and animals?
(Don’t answer, I’ve been on FR long enough to know the answer ;) )

"Never had a dolphin try to cut my throat."You've just been hangin' with the nice dolphins, the ones that go to school.
But when dolphins go bad, it can get ugly - never turn your back on a dolphin from the wrong side of the bay!
