Is there a specific date FreeRepublicans celebrate FR's birth? Or is there a day it ought to be celebrated (besides every day)?

I was here back when you had to close your html’s!
***I remember the lost italians... I STILL don’t trust HTML. The way I see it, when HTML tags are embedded in MSWord or whatever the most common Word Processor of the day , then I’ll start using them again. I see you mastered the art of putting in icons.

Did any of you guys also “chat” in Washington Watch over on Yahoo? Some of the names in here were also used over there.

Thanks for that, Jim.
Any chance of seeing the first threads after registration? I read them years ago and it is interesting to see just how discussions went, at that time.

I heard about FR from Drudge and Neil Boortz. I signed in March 1998. Remember the blue dress.........! It was
so good to swap stories during the Toon’s years.

I was here before the '96 election... I found FR from the early Drudge link and pretty soon was here far more than there...but waited until early '98 to register. FR was a special place then, and is still a special, though very different, place now.
Thanks for all you do, Jim!

No, I just looked at my own date. November 28, 1997.
Gee, I was just a kid back then.

Well, it
was your tagline for two whole posts. Thanks. :O)
Sure, it's not the best, most eloquent statement in the world - just off-the-cuff.
I just thought it would be kind of funny to have as your "mouse-over," given so many people are used to seeing the general "since XX-XX-XXXX" tag.
:O)

No, no, no. FReepers would ‘forget’ to /i off italics in their posts...so the rest of the thread would be ‘italian’ until somebody closed the tag. Then somebody else had to add ‘italians be gone’ then it had to be explained that it was italics not those of italian heritage...yada yada yada...alot of bandwith went with it :)

Yeah, what she said. It’s kinda hard to find now, though.
