UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

It appears two or three buildings at the castle survived...!!
Oh I know. I hesitated to even mention it. The “poor” people near Rt. 126 aren’t as important as the Malibu Colony residents. ;)
I just heard on KFI that Malibu is now asking all residents to evacuate.
Same when you visit Santa Barbara. You look out over the Pacific and you’re looking straight south. It’s very disorienting.
I’m glad I was wrong about the waterdrop units flying, but I’m surprised. Are they built for this in a different way?
Are you near this fire?
That’s great news!
Sustained wind in the high desert is now up to 26+ mph out of the northeast.

I would guess such a comment would come from you. Very predictable.
Hey hang tight, maybe some firefighters will be killed, maybe a few more homes burned...
Sick. ...but from you, expected.
Yaelle, Marta Waller on KTLA was also saying a few minutes there is a great deal of livestock, horses, pets, etc. in the area.... It’s always like this. Some will not leave without their animals.
Gives me the heebie-jeebies as I recall 1993.
