La Plaza Comunitaria and La Paz de Dios will host an annual Hispanic health fair Sunday in conjunction with Binational Health Week, organizers said.
Mirtha Jones, director of Plaza Comunitaria, an initiative of Chattanooga State Technical Community College, said it is important to have a health fair specifically for Hispanics because "There are a lot of Latinos in the area that don't have access to medical care."
She said this is the second year the health fair will be held together with Binational Health Week.
The fair will include about 20 different organizations offering information on various illnesses, such as tuberculosis, epilepsy and testing for HIV and AIDS, according to organizers. The fair also will have entertainment and door prizes.
Kasey Poole, spokeswoman for the Chattanooga Hamilton County Health Department, which is participating in the health fair, said outreach "is always important when we work with the community."
She said it is fundamental to educate people about health care services available to them, and interpreters will be available for participants who need them.
"We want to make sure we provide all the information in their language and let them know there are other places where they can receive free health care services," Ms. Jones said.
She said organizers are expecting 250 to 300 people at the fair.

This is in Chattanooga, Hamilton County....
Who is paying for this service to illegal aliens? The Hamilton county taxpayers?
PING
Non-emergency health-care for illegal aliens..

I hope they check them for TB.
The taxpayers, of course, but I didn't see any Tennessee agencies on their list.

the whole country is going to hell in a hand basket...
Illegals invade our borders carrying nothing in their backpacks but a handbook on how to get on the US gray train.
Living off taxpayers is the name of the game.
Illegals plead poverty to get US freebies but they have pleny of extra cash to send back to their moth-eaten home countries-——about $50 billion a year by recent reports.
The illegals scam is to suckup as much as they can in the US then return to their countries to live in beachfront condos with money in the bank———all courtesy of US taxpayers.
This must end, pronto.
Is this one held the week before, or the week after the “Health Fair for White People”?
While the rotten politicians keep campaigning by selling out America — buying votes from every downside group in America. And breaking our laws to do it. If you and I break laws, we go to jail — how about these bumbs??? Maybe that would help their attitude about using the American public as “useful idiots” (thank you Lenin).

I gotta wonder why California can’t keep their own hospitals
open ??...
my thought too.... who pays for this
So far you are just playing dumb
Oh.... it’s Perla again. No wonder newspaper circulation is down because her “community” sure doesn’t buy them
What a racist event. Of course of governments support racism as long as you are not white.
I hear they won’t be opening the State Fair in Tennessee next summer over the palpable fear that even one illegal immigrant might be there enjoying an ice cream cone.
It's because only white people can be racist, doncha know. Black, Asians, are Hispanics minorities, so in the world of political Correctness, they can be racist, while the act of even asking why no white events is in itself racist.
Imagine a White Miss America, or White Journalist Group or White Congressional Caucus or White health fair. Inherently racist. Any other ethnic or racial group just being inclusive by being exclusive.
I’ll bet there won’t be a group there offering free vasectomies or sterilizations. Such a group would be banned as racist.
