The reason this worked (IMHO) is because noone listening to Rush's 'phony soldier' comment or reading the transcript could mistake what he was addressing; MediaMatters was revealed as a lying, shrill partisan organization and every senator that signed was revealed as too lazy or too partisan to care about the truth of what they were signing.

Going forward, every conservative speaker will have to be even more careful that what they say cannot be taken out of context.

The fact that Rush has a 20-year history of defending and supporting the military inoculated him to some extent. Others without that history will be easier to pick off...

What we are seeing is the ultimate game of political "chicken". This should be the moment when the Senate Repubs and the Bush Administration step-up and publicly slap-down Reid and the Dems. Don't hold your breath, however... They'll leave Rush to fight this battle by himself while they cower in fear and shame.

Actually “Bogtrotter” was an old term that the British used for Irish people. Oh, nice moose. Lived in Alaska for 30+ years and we had alot up there, bigger than the lower 48 variety I understand. But only recall ever hearing of one that was broke to harness. LOL

Whatever for??? They NEVER are!!! They get all bent out of shape when they're just called "The Democrat Party!" (instead of "The Democratick Party!)

Of course if they started calling their opponents "The Republic Party," I think we might even grow to like that contraction... In fact I wish the new mainstream third party would be called "The Republic Party!"

It would draw the necessary contrast with the other two and would definitely kick the "can" out of the Republican Party which should currently be called "The Republican't Party" anyway! IMHO (because they can't consistently support consistent conservatism!)
