Are you actually arguing the Feds should impose drilling requirements on the states?

What happened to Article 10?

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people.

Why should the people of Florida have veto power over a National Security issue? With oil at $89 per barrel, we should start drilling off the coast of Florida and in ANWAR.

But Thompson said Thusday that it's not something he would support.

After he was reminded which position he was supposed to take. Sheesh, the mainstream Republicans consider Fred the 'savior' of the Republican Party? If I didn't know any better, I'd swear I was watching Spinal Tap does politics.

I imagine he changed his position once he was told ('remembered') the Everglades are in Florida...

He doesn't want oil drilling in the Everglades.

Somebody give Fred a cane - he keeps stumbling!

Hey, Fred, I have a house for sale. Why don’t you help FL out by buying it?

Folks reading this article should remember that it’s a CBS source, and there’s practically no context.

I believe I’ll wait to see some full remarks before I run around with my hair on fire due to a CBS snippet.
