From now on when I see MAF, I'm going to say oh that's that group with the people who are trying to oust pro-troops, conservative Republican Congressman Doolittle.
It's too bad those two decided to become so public about it because what they WERE doing was something we can all get behind. To be honest, the "he doesn't support the troops" falsehood, and "how dare you criticize the mother of a soldier" attitude is no different than what the unmentionable people on the antiwar side have done all along.
Great show today, Good job. Too bad Deborah Johns and Mark Williams names were part of it.
Fine bunch of Americans.
Fine
They are still doing it. It's you that is stopping. Don't support the troops anymore. Your petty attitude won't keep MAF and others from continuing to support and BE supported by tens of thousands of troops.
And several hundred thousand Patriotic Americans.
Please take your grievances to the other thread and stop trying to ruin this one.
I'm sure your guy can take the heat just fine.
It's not all about you.
Looks like the good guys had the situation well in hand!
One lady said: “We don’t want our children to get hurt”. What are the odds she had a “child” in the military?
Great job, you guys are the best!!!!
It's never been about me, and he's not "my guy". He doesn't know me from Adam. However, we have a decent God-fearing man, and a conservative pro-troops Republican who is coming under assault on all sides, and two people who made names for themselves by way of MAF jumping in for the attack.
I'm sorry you are so anxious to stifle discussion. This thread mentions Deborah Johns several times. It is totally appropriate to point out how she is attacking one of the good guys and ruining the message of this fine group.
You were there? Lucky you! I missed out on the fun and had to get the after action report on the Sussman show at 6:00 pm.
Be sure to continue by going to all of These Threads and put in your comments. Don't miss any opportunities.
After all, what you (I know it's not about you) are doing is more important than the real reason for this thread. Supporting the Marine's right to recruit from their office in Berkeley.
It's never been about me, and he's not "my guy". He doesn't know me from Adam.
You know that is not what I meant. I imagine he knows who you are now and supports your drawing attention away from support for our Military.
I'm sorry you are so anxious to stifle discussion.
I know you are misreading my statement on purpose, but the discussion you insist on bringing to this report was and is being addressed on a thread here at FR.
It is totally appropriate to point out how she is attacking one of the good guys...As you have been told, that is a separate issue. There is a thread for that.
...and ruining the message of this fine group.
It seems that you are trying to do that, but it won't work. You should have shown up and confronted the hundreds of vets, gold star and blue parents, and Support The Troops American Citizens to tell them how MAF's message is being ruined.
From a post of yours on this thread:
Great show today, Good job. Too bad Deborah Johns and Mark Williams names were part of it.Yea, well thanks for making Mark Williams' name a part of it. His wasn't mentioned until you brought it up.
Like I said, I give up. The thread is yours, have at it.
I dropped off my daughter at school today and when I was walking back to the car, I saw a little compact with KPFA and Code Pink bumper stickers. There were a bunch of bumper stickers all over this car, but the only one I really saw was Code Pink.
I watched as the car moved toward the faculty parking lot.
I said,”Oh please God-no!”
The car stopped in the middle of the lot. I heaved a sigh of relief, thinking it was just a parent dropping off their child.
As the car made a series of adjustments to pull into a faculty space, I screamed in horror. From my car, I watched the teacher walk toward the school, and shook my head in disbelief.
Oh so you are on their side now, trashing a pro-military Congressman who has been fighting for the troops his entire career.
As I said, the people drawing attention from our troops are Deborah Johns and Mark Williams who have chosen to use "the troops" as a wedge in their personal campaign on the behalf of the Public Relations Officer who 'fought' from behind a desk.
I don’t understand, it’s not unusual for people to line up behind one candidate or another, how have they been “trashing” your candidate?
Please be specific because if all this is the usual back and forth policy debates than you’re crying crocodile tears.
Deborah Johns decided to back a challenger to incumbent Republican pro-troops Congressman John Doolittle. She then went around to gatherings saying Congressman Doolittle wasn't doing anything to support the troops. Doolittle's spokesman called her and left a message saying, hey please stop saying that. How about calling us and we'll give you the facts.
She then took the message and gave it to Mark Williams, the washed-up radio has-been who wrote a screaming blog about how the Congressman was attacking the mother of a soldier.
I guess they are entitled to do all that if they want to tell lies and tarnish the reputations of decent men, but now that she has decided to become an outspoken advocate in a contested primary, she has started to drag Move America Forward into the conflict and turned herself into a lightening rod of controversy. That's too bad, but when her name and pictures are posted, it's only fair to talk about her efforts to unseat a conservative pro-troops Congressman who has served our nation admirably for decades.
Is that your logic? I have not chimed in on that issue at all, except here to call you on your misrepresentations.
Like saying Mark Williams was associated with the rally.
If a great many of Doolittle's supporters are like you, misrepresenting situations and accusing people like me (who have had nothing to say at all about Doolittle) of thrashing your "guy" it's not going to bode well for him.
If you want him out of office, keep stumping for him with lies and misrepresentations.
Mark Williams, the washed-up radio has-been
Wow, you really hate the guy don't you?
I imagine he knows who you are now and supports your drawing attention away from support for our Military.
“She then went around to gatherings saying Congressman Doolittle wasn’t doing anything to support the troops.”
Can you point us to this?
“How about calling us and we’ll give you the facts.”
What are the facts? Why does DJ believe he hasn’t done anything (which is much different than the subjective “not doing enough”) and what has your candidate actually done that contradits this?
Why do you think DJ and MAF have aligned aligned themselves with this opposing candidate and against yours? If yours us as much a supporter of the troops as you say, it doesn’t make sense.
He's been one of the most conservative Republicans in Congress - since 1990. I have no reason to doubt him. If you want details about what, when and where, then you call his office.
Why do you think DJ and MAF have aligned aligned themselves with this opposing candidate and against yours?
Because she has said so.
Why don't you learn more about it before interrogating me with idiotic questions.
I noticed the Contra Costa version of events made the Drudge Report...
