Physical activity cuts my numbers like crazy. Now that its cooled off and I can longer swim every day, I see the change.

.....He used a push mower -...

I use a gas mmower that must be pushed.

When I was about 22, I took an assignment out of the country. I dropped by my 90 year old grandfather’s farm to say good by and he took me to see his newly planted orchard!!

LOL! So...you trade diabetes 2 for high levels of chorlesterol...and die of a heart attack or stroke instead.

I completely reversed early T2D by following my doctor's advice to the letter. For several months I ate a zero carb diet and took metformin. After 6 months of eating only meat, eggs, cheese, seeds, nuts and LOTS of veggies I'd lost about 25 lbs, my BP dropped to low-normal, my blood sugars dropped to normal, my PCOS went into remission and all my blood work came back perfect.

The book Protein Power (by Eades) explains why this works.

I do NOT believe that everyone needs this diet, but if one is developing T2D, one should look into it.

I also had a friend who's father was severely obese and had a very bad heart. He was too sick for a transplant. The CARDIOLOGIST put him on a no carb diet for 6 months to help him loose weight AND to bring down his cholesterol. Here's the kicker: the cardiologist insisted that he stay on a no carb diet AFTER the transplant.

Thanks so much for that information, Marie.

I have been on Metformin for about 30 days and have been testing my blood glucose. Also, Cozaar for blood pressure and Lipitor for the other.

Only once did it fall below 100 ...it was 92....but it usually sits at 107 to 112 when I test prior to breakfast.

I am beginning classes at Shady Grove hospital to learn more about proper diets for cases like mine...(hypertension and high chorlesterol. Eating is no longer something I look forward to...I am sooooo sick of vegetarian omelets with egg whites for breakfast. I am dying for a milkshake from Chic-fill-A. LOL!

I promise you, you will NOT receive proper information. I'll bet money that they'll hype the low-fat diet.

Carbs are the killer.

I'm not a doctor, but I've had a few friends in your situation who did very well on a low (*very*) low carb diet with flax seed oil and metformin. (FSO seems to help with blood pressure.)

Carbs are the killer.

I understand that carbs turn into fat...or something else that isn't good for you.

I gave up white bread...pasta....and rice. Kill me now! LOL!

More “indications,” “clues,” and a “bigger party.” Money is in long term treatment, not a cure.

mmmmmmmmmmm diced sirloin steak omelet with sauteed onions and a hot cup of fresh medium roast coffee!

Eat right, exercise, die anyway.

???

High chorlesterol over time will clog arteries. Are you saying that's not true?

Do you realize the earth is not flat? :^)

My dad tried one out. Since he has limited vision he couldn’t read the manual, he had great difficulty with calibration procedures, and had trouble reading the display.

He didn’t like the ways the receiver got befuddled if he walked away from it.

He returned it to the vendor.

Your experience will probably be much better...

What about Atkins?

it is a fat friendly, marbled red meat lovin’ diet.
I’m on it and doing fine weight loss wise—i’m not diabetic but the way things are going with foods these days we are all vulnerable

I think the BLAME is the HF CORN SYRUP
It is in almost everything and I mean everything
